I used art and journaling to communicate and connect my story with the life stories of others. As I made art I wrote about my plans, purposes and passions for creating. I didn’t do this while considering myself a great artist or writer: many people blow me out of the water here. Greatness was not my goal. I created simply to let others know they are not alone: that my story was much like their story. I used several methods for connecting: publishing, Tadalis SX article writing, interviewing, speaking, blogging, social networking and talking with others. Today I am still pushing forward with my message using these same methods with wonderful results: people really do want to know they are not alone, they want to hear about the lives of others and they are very excited to share.

How will you share and how will you reach others with your own message? Answer this question by considering how you are uniquely wired. If you like to write perhaps you could start your own blog? Maybe you love to scrapbook and would like to use this passion to document your journey? If you’re an artist you could post your art, and your reasons for making your art, using SlideShare, Facebook or Twitter? Might it be time to keep your first journal or share some of the entries you have been keeping for decades? How about a autobiographical comic book, a musical memoir, or a photo documentary? If you don’t write poetry, but you love it, you could use your favorite poems as a launching point for reaching others. The possibilities are endless.

Remember that there are hidden rewards for sharing. As you open up to others you will find yourself opening up in ways you never thought possible. I was amazed to discover how my own spiritual storytelling healed me. I have become more intentional about making art, and writing about my art, as a means for soothing and regenerating my own soul. I make sure I continue to be a spiritual autobiographer because when I give away pieces of myself I find the pieces of myself being put back together. This is a wonderful surprise I believe you will find if you choose to share your journey. Discover how you are wired to give your story (autobiography) a voice in a uniquely personal way that’s deeply spiritual, sacred and life changing. Heal others and heal yourself: share your story.
