Some people may think that being a salesman is an easy job. All you have to do is go right up to someone and ask them if they want to buy your product right?

If you are paid hourly and receive some commission on top of that, then you are probably less motivated to sell anything. But if you were only working off of commission, then you are going to do your best to make more money.

The first thing to do is to find a company that you want to work for. Whatever company you work for is going to have you sell their products.

Do not advertise for someone whose products you do not believe in or would not buy. Only work for someone that has things that you would buy yourself.

This makes it a lot easier to convince someone else that they need if you show you would buy it as well. Believe in the product because it is easy to lose sight of why you are selling it sometimes.

This can be hard for some people that love to talk and feel like they have to take up the whole time they are at someone’s door to talk them into buying their product. If you do not listen, you will not hear the important questions the buyer asks and your voice will not go hoarse.

When you listen, you become more of an individual to them instead of just a salesman. And buyers can learn to trust you and in turn will be more willing to buy from you.
