Some Things to Understand About the Tour De France

Bicycling is one of the most exhilarating forms of exercise that one can do. Many have caught on to this popular exercise fad.

There are many ways that you can exercise with a bicycle. It just depends on if you want to be inside or outside!

You can buy a mountain or road bike and get out on the open roads or trails of your neighborhood. This can give you a whiff of fresh air and help you see things in your area that you may have never seen before.

If you are trying to exercise during the winter months, you can still have the feeling of biking but do it inside the comfort of your home. This can be done with an indoor stationary bike.

They have similar features as a road bike, but they are stationary and stay in the same place as you put it in your living room or elsewhere. This can be a great way to get a good workout in.

So it’s understood by most that cycling is a great way to get your body in shape and have a lot of fun during your leisure time. But what many people don’t understand is that cycling is also a very serious competitive sport.

You might strap your feet on those pedals to burn off the extra calories from the day or just have some fun, but there are hardcore athletes out there in the world that do it for other reasons. They do it for the fun also, but they are also competing for prizes and money.

These athletes do it all the time by competing in professional races. These are held all over the world and involve thousands of cyclists vying for a top prize.

You might have never seen an actual bike race, but you’ve probably heard of at least one: the Tour de France. This is the most popular cycle race in the entire world.

For many, it can be really exciting to watch this famous clash of bikers; and who knows, you might want to get in on some of that excitement, prescription cialis generic too.

In that case, there are some things that you will need to know before you start watching the tour. Otherwise, you may not understand the little subtleties that the race has.

The first thing that you will need to understand is that in addition to the overall race over the entire French countryside, there are multiple stages within the whole thing. A rider could win the prize for many stages but will end up not winning the overall race.

For these stages inside of the big race, there are prizes for those who win them. Each winner gets to wear a different type of jersey to distinguish themselves as the winner of the previous stage.

When a rider is wearing a yellow jersey, it means that they were the overall leader on the previous stage. But just because they could be the winner of many stages doesn’t mean they will win the whole thing.

Sometimes a rider will be wearing a polka-dot jersey. This is awarded to a cyclist who is called the “king of the mountains”.

When riders are in mountainous areas, the athlete who gets to the top of a climb first gets awarded special points. Whichever athlete has the most points gets to eventually wear this jersey.

It needs to be known that riders who generally win the polka-dot jersey are much different than regular riders. This is because it takes a different mindset to be able to go up hills faster than anybody else.

Usually these climber riders will rarely ever be in the lead in relation to other riders. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t a special honor to be awarded this jersey!

A white jersey is also given out for the best young rider. This is based on the rider’s times and overall performance.

In order to be eligible for the white jersey, athletes must be under a certain age. They must be under 25 years of age on January 1st when it is the year of the race.

There are also other jersey prizes that are awarded for excellency. Check online or watch the race to learn about them!
