Cincinnati Bengals Tickets – Get Your Popcorn Ready, Times Two

It’s official: Terrell Owens is a member of the Cincinnati Bengals. As the Bengals look to defend their AFC North title from last season, they now have two of the most flamboyant and talented wide receivers in the league, which should make for a season filled with wild antics and touchdowns. But even though Owens still is in great shape for his age, the question remains how productive he can be now that he’s 36 and about to strap on the helmet for his fifth team and third in three years.

After a lackluster season in Buffalo last year, T.O. didn’t have a lot going in the offseason as teams overwhelmingly looked at other options instead of the diva wideout past his prime. But the one thing that truthful Buffalo Bills fans will tell you is that Owens lived up to his contract to a tee last season. With an array of different starting quarterbacks, a porous offensive line and an overall subpar team, the Bills struggled significantly to get the ball to Owens for much of the season, Levitra Professional yet there were none of the sideline antics that NFL fans have grown to expect from T.O. For the most part, even when his production dipped due to factors out of his control, T.O. was a model teammate.

Now he heads to a much better situation in Cincinnati where he will be able to play with long time friend Chad Ochocinco and also help sell plenty of Cincinnati Bengals tickets. Though the whispers of potential problems with team chemistry are already circulating, they are completely unfounded at this point. If anything, it seems that Owens and Ochocinco will push each other to be productive on the field, which would only benefit quarterback Carson Palmer and the team as a whole.

The other major advantage Owens will have is that the Bengals are a significantly more complete team than the Bills. The Bengals have a considerably better offensive line and a strong-armed quarterback in Palmer who can get the ball down the field. Palmer certainly isn’t the same quarterback that he was before his major knee injury a few years back but he also is a much more polished signal caller than Ryan Fitzpatrick, Trent Edwards and Brian Brohm – the three quarterbacks who started games for the Bills last season.

What the Owens signing also does is give the Bengals a three-headed monster at the wideout position, not to mention a talented young tight end as well. The Bengals also previously signed former Buccaneers standout Antonio Bryant, who had a breakout season in 2008 before struggling due to a myriad of offensive problems the Bucs were faced with in 2009. As a third wideout on the depth chart, Bryant should be all but uncoverable.

At 6-foot-5 with great size and speed, rookie tight end Jermaine Gresham will also make it very difficult on opposing secondaries. If the Bengals can protect Palmer, he should have a wealth of weapons that can help him get back on track after a disappointing 2009 season. With Owens and Ochocinco on the outside, it will also be almost impossible to put eight men in the box to try and stop running back Cedric Benson, who finally had a full productive season in 2009.

Though it previously seemed that the Baltimore Ravens had made too many solid improvements to their team for the Bengals to win the division, it now seems that they should be in position to compete with just about anyone in the league. Owens bolsters an already good receiving corps and makes them arguably the most complete unit in the entire league. If Owens and Ochocinco can indeed coexist all season long, the Bengals should be in great shape to make another playoff push in 2010.
