Successfully Starting a Walking Club

It’s the dead of winter. You have been walking on your treadmill in the basement for months now.

You have watched every TV show imaginable and gone through about every song on your mp3 player. You want it to be summer!

You know when the sun hits and it melts all of the snow off in spring, you will be happily taking off your coat and mittens so that you can enjoy the sun and walk outside. You are just eagerly waiting for that day!

You also know that in addition to walking outside, you want to try something else that is a little bit different. The idea has stemmed from the growing boredom that you’ve had to deal with while you’ve been stuck on the dark basement treadmill.

You’ve realized that walking can be quite boring with only yourself to entertain you. You’ve thought of how great it would be to have your good friends to talk to while you are getting a bit of exercise.

With your friends by your side, you would be more motivated to get some exercise and put on those walking shoes. This would be because it would be much more fun because now there would be a social aspect to exercising.

One great thing that you can realize is that you don’t have to stop at just your friends. You can make a whole group of people that enjoy walking and make new friends!

All you have to do is start a walking club. It’s not hard at all and it will benefit you in more ways than one.

The first thing you have to do is find people that would be interested in joining your club. It would be easy to start with your friends and family, whom you know will support you.

But that might not be enough. You might end up with only a couple family members or friends to help you.

If that is the case, you will need to do a little bit of advertising. You can make flyers and post them at the local gym or school.

Or Cialis you can use the internet to your advantage. Post an ad on Craigslist or other classified sites, or just simply send out a mass e-mail to all of your online contacts.

Once you have people that have joined your group, you will now need to figure out exactly when and where the club will walk. You will need to have at least 3 to 4 routes planned for the group so they don’t get bored quickly.

You also need to remember to plan in varying difficulties of routes. You could have easy days with flat terrain mixed with tougher routes that may have hills or other challenging areas.

Once you figure out the routes, it’s time to figure out when the club will meet and exercise. The times that you pick should be able to accommodate all the members of the club.

This might mean you will have to pick a time in the morning and a time in the evening depending on the day. This will give every member of the club a possibility of coming and walking.

You also need to make sure that you have the right amount of days scheduled for your meetings. Don’t make the mistake of having too many workout days, because that will scare people away.

On the other hand, you need to realize that one day of walking a week might not be enough for many members of the group. Have a meeting with the club to decide what times would be appropriate for everybody present.

Finally, you need to notify your team in what they need to bring to every workout. Tell them to always bring a comfortable pair of walking shoes and a bottle of water.

You should give out your contact info to every member of the club so that they can contact you in case they can’t make or they will be late to a scheduled meeting.

Once you have done all these steps, all you need to do is get together with your club and have fun; and while you are having fun, you will be getting some much needed exercise!
