Voyager.io – The Story of Us

It’s always interesting to see how one series of events might lead to another. Especially when you hit a break through in your life because of it. Think about the people you know or the job you have. That version of reality would have never come into existence if those events had not occurred.

The Partnership that Started it All

This was the case with Voyager.io, our very first Saas product. Thinking back, I ask myself if Voyager would have ever come into existence if1 it wasn’t for our team pulling the trigger on the opportunity to collaborate with UTPA’s Continuing Education (local university) director to plan an event called Code Factory.

Initially, we were working towards a partnership between our consultancy – Create the Bridge – and UTPA to begin offering courses through the university. Our team met with the director of Continuing Education to discuss the classes we would be interested in offering later that year.

We wanted to offer classes that would better prepare university level student for jobs in the design & technology industries. To gain exposure for the classes; we created Code Factory; a community event held for high school and university students in the Rio Grande Valley.

Code Factory

The event was a huge success! Four of our team members had demonstrations on different subjects around design and tech and we filled the building with 100 students who were all interested in what the we had to offer.

You’re probably asking… where’s Voyager? Well the truth is; the initial concept of Voyager was within one of our demonstrations given by Nathan; one of our developers and co-founders at Bridge. We refer to it as our \”Alpha Version\”.

In our efforts to produce something interesting and relevant that students would be excited about, we had no idea that our Code Factory alpha version would inspire what is now Voyager.

We encouraged the students to interact with us and give us their thoughts on the event by posting on Twitter & Instagram which would then be aggregated into Voyager. And as you\’ll see.. they loved it : http://codefactory.herokuapp.com.

Voyager Launches

It wasn\’t until a few weeks after that we realized the potential Voyager had as a Saas product.1 The thing is people want to interact with you digitally and socially, we do it all the time. Even if we hadn\’t encouraged the students to post on their social accounts; they would have done it anyways because that\’s what we do. Though without a tool like Voyager; we wouldn\’t have had a single source where all that content would be aggregated.

This is what Voyager does; it\’s a social media tool that collects and publishes your social activity all in one place; on your website or monitor display for example.

After we spoke to a few of our clients, they couldn\’t wait until we launched. We had consumer validation.

We\’re in Pre-Launch

As of now, we\’re in pre-launch and we\’re running a campaign to help spread the word about Voyager. Join and support us through the process by subscribing to our mailing list. Once you do, use your custom link and your social account to spread the word about Voyager. In appreciation; we\’re giving away gifts, including Ipad mini\’s! Hurry and participate as prizes are limited 🙂
