Grand Canyon – 5 Tips For Incredibly Awesome Tours!

The weather is absolutely fabulous at the Grand Canyon, which means it\’s time to turn on the PC or any of your other devices and book a tour online. But before you hit \”the buy\” button, here are 5 tips that all National Park travelers must know in order to get the trip of their dreams.

Save Money

My first tip is purchase your tour over the Internet. I kind of hinted at that in my opening remark and here\’s why: The best deals are online. I often find trips marked down by as much as 35 percent. These types of deals simply aren\’t available off line. Further, booking online is safe, secure and super convenient. There\’s really no reason not to purchase you trip over the Internet anymore.

My second tip is book your tour in advance. I recommend doing it after you get your hotel rooms booked. If you can\’t do that, then try for a couple weeks out. Don\’t book tour 24 hours prior to the start date, and avoid trying to lock it down the day that happens. Two things can and will happen. First, the price will increase a lot. Second, it\’s highly likely that the tour will be sold out. Thus, avoid procrastination if you\’re serious about doing a Canyon activity.

My third tip is to take a deluxe helicopter tour. These are available from Las Vegas and South Rim. The reason they are deluxe is that they use the superior EcoStar 130, which features a 180-degree windshield and stacked stadium-style seats. And, if you are doing a deluxe from Vegas, you get picked up in a limousine and you get to do an extended tour over the Vegas Strip.

Vegas Plane

Tip #4 is take the direct airplane flight from Vegas to the South Rim. The flight itself takes just 60 minutes, compared to 5.5 hours via bus or car. And remember: Vegas helicopters don\’t fly to the South Rim because it\’s too far. So stick with this incredible airplane tour, which can be upgraded to include a Jeep 4×4 tour or a 30-minute helicopter ride.

Tip #5 is to take the bus-raft option from South Rim. This is an all day trip and it\’s perfect for large groups and families (kids as young as 4 years of age can do it). The float goes 15.3 miles down the Colorado River and includes several really cool walks and plenty of pullouts for swimming and lunch. If you\’re looking for a refreshing way to spend a day, this is it.

Conclusion

I\’m available most days in Live Chat and am happy to answer most of your questions as they pertain to the National Park. But please remember to book these tours early. They do sell out and it\’s my goal to make sure you successfully get the right tour that lets you explore this incredible Canyon land.
