Effective Acne Treatments: Pros and Cons
Just try finding an effective acne treatment from a muddle of soaps, gels, creams, supplements, especial acne diets, surgical interferences, laser skin re-surfacing, antibiotic skin ointments, herbal products and what not! The result, I may assure you will be in the negative. True, you might see some improvement, but it is bound to be short-term. None of these acne medications will give you acne-free life ever afterwards. What is more, the great pharmaceutical giants, together with their agents, dealers and distributors are least bothered about this hopeless situation and are quite happy in making money at the cost of millions of acne sufferers dotting the length and breadth of continental America.
The primary reason behind this non-availability of effective acne treatment is the lack of knowledge or interest about the nature of this disease condition. The pimples, blackheads, whiteheads, lesions do not form the disease but are merely the external manifestations of an internal ailment that has affected such vital organs like the liver or the kidneys. And unless these are treated first, it tantamount to picking out the leaves of a poison ivy while nurturing the plant as a whole.
What surprises most is the apathy of medical doctors, Dermatologists and pharmacologists towards exploring the root causes of acne while digressing towards temporary relief provided by acne medications that hardly deliver results. Take for example, some of the topical antibiotics or powerful cortisone based creams or gels that destroy most microorganisms like probiotic bacteria but can hardly touch p.acne which causes acne. These ‘miracle drugs’ address just the external symptoms while having no effect on the causes. And these too, are only on a short-term basis. Chemical Peels and Benzoil Peroxide are quintessence of this peculiar syndrome. While the former can temporarily cure acne and the resultant scar to some extent, the latter will kill the bacteria by irritating the skin and make it parchment dry for days to come. But, they cannot tackle the internal causes of acne with the result that acne will reappear again as soon as the limited time effect of the therapies is over.
Then there are the lures of Aroma Therapy, Tea Tree Oil, Aloe Vera gel and many more exotic home therapies that seemingly assure a cure with their so called magical performance. However, they are only skin deep in their approach to cure acne that resides far deeper than the skin and consequently create very little or no effect on the disease. However, this need not necessarily mean that they are totally useless or ineffective since their therapeutic values have been greatly appreciated by many. The only difference is that, they are rather inadequate in dealing a death blow to the acne which is a multi-dimensional disease, beyond the firing range of any aroma or gel. Even Chamomile has enough anti-inflammatory properties to reduce acne symptoms. But as above said, none of them can ever cure acne because they can never reach the root causes.
As for creams, gel and formula ointments sold in the medicinal market as “Sure Cure Acne Formulations”, they are equally ineffective in curing acne permanently for the same reason that they address themselves superficially and can never reach the root of acne. Murad, a well-advertised acne cure ‘Clarifying Cleanser’ believed to fight acne by killing the bacteria as well as exfoliating the pores for easy drainage of the sebum also fails in the final issue since it does not have the power to cleanse the blood and lymphatic glands that become gorged with toxins. Also, Proactiv, a revitalizing toner preferred by some as an effective acne treatment formulation proves a failure to cure acne permanently for similar reasons.
In many cases, vitamins and natural supplements can work for acne. However they need to be a part of the complete solution for acne. Many people believe that if you have a deficiency in vitamin b5 (pantothenic acid), it will lead to acne. This is not the case and so, this idea is wrong. Therefore, the B5 acne treatment is ineffective. On the other hand, a large quantity of the Vitamin B5 may actually cause serious side effects – so, you need to be careful here.
Another drug that has been reported to be very effective for severe acne is Accutane. However let me tell you, the results of Accutane are temporary and it causes serious side effects too.
The purpose of drawing this treatise is to tell the reader that acne can never be cured by treating the external symptoms but by delving deeper into one’s system and eliminating the causative factors one by one till it is free of all toxic matters and the body attuned to a healthy internal makeup. And the one and only way of doing this is by way of taking a holistic approach along with application of all-natural internal and external protocols that can permanently neutralize the setting that trigger acne formation.
