The snowy days of winter, what does it mean for you? To most folks winter means a time of slippery sidewalks, nasty roads, flu season, and something that can be much worse for others, the Winter Blues. The winter blues does not generally happen to someone who is busy all day with things to do in the winter, because they keep active and energetic, as night time approaches, they relax and go to sleep. Now, since you have enough extra time on your hands in the winter, that it causes you to get the winter blues, lets discover a great little hobby that can help fight against it.
You can turn the cold, snowy days of winter into a hobby that can make you some money, by using the time your stuck inside, to learn website design. Almost all of the websites you come across when surfing the internet are made with software called; WYSIWYG ‘ What You See Is What You Get ‘, web design tools. One of the most popular of these tools is called; Dreamweaver. These website design tools let you create a powerful website which has numerous abilities, with an almost point and click type interface, bypassing the need to use extensive code and calculations.
So, if you don’t want to study one of the several languages used to design websites, you should invest in a great tool like Dreamweaver to get started, if you would rather start building a website the basic way, which is also the cheapest, you can start by teaching yourself HTML. HTML is the basic website design language, it stands for; ‘ HyperText Markup Language ‘. You can create a very powerful website by using only HTML, and the best thing is, you have everything on your computer right now to start learning HTML, and to create a complete website.
I have created numerous websites over the years for friends for free, and a few I have made for paying clients, all of the websites I have ever made were made with HTML. The only tool you need to write or make an HTML website with is either Notepad or Word, the basic text editors that come standard on all WINDOWS Computers. If you want to edit and display some graphics on your website you may wish to use a free paint program that comes on most computers, but that is not needed unless you are going to edit or create your own graphics.
All of the graphics or animated images you will ever need on your website, can probably be gotten from free sources on the internet, if you do enough searching for them. If you want to learn HTML simply search the net for online tutorials on the subject, there are tons of great free courses. Once you master HTML you may wish to broaden your website making skills by learning other website design languages, the more skills you have, the more complex and professional the websites will be that you can design, and sell. So, this winter, start making some great money by creating and selling websites you have made, it’s also a great way to help beat the winter blues.
