Spotting Great Internet Marketing Videos
In this day and age, you simply cannot succeed without an online presence. That’s… Pretty much basic fact, and there’s no getting around it. How many businesses each year go under, in spite of offering great products and great services, simply because the owner had no idea how to get into online marketing? There are two ways to learn. One is to learn at your own expense. Luckily, web marketing is cheap, but it can take years before you figure it out. The other way is with internet marketing videos.
Finding the good marketing videos out there can be easy, but there are a few points that are pretty much requisite. In the end, you want to go with your instincts, and even if one of the qualities below is lacking, they still might have the education you need. But, if a video doesn’t hit ANY of these points, then you’re better off looking elsewhere. Still, everyone learns in their own way, so if a video just hits you in the right way, give them a chance.
— Pro Quality
It doesn’t need to look like a big budget Hollywood movie, it doesn’t even need to be shot in hi def. But, it should at least look OKAY. It shouldn’t look like some junk someone shot on a VHS camcorder that they borrowed from their grandpa. As important as the video quality is, editing is even more important. Some people just don’t care about the quality of the product, so they just point a camera at the stage and call it a day. Look for something that was actually filmed and edited by a professional crew.
— Skip the Screenshots
Some of these marketing vids are really just screenshots with a voice over. Again, this comes down to PRIDE. If the marketing guru doesn’t take pride in the presentation of his own product, then what does he really know when it comes to teaching YOU how to take pride in your own presentation? If it’s obvious that they just plain do not care, then the fact is, they just plain do not care. Just plain old screenshots means that they’re probably just trying to make a quick buck off of you.
— Seminars
The best videos for online marketing typically include seminar footage. Some gurus use the videos as essentially ads for their seminars… If you really want to learn how to market online, then the video should have seminar footage. Otherwise, you’re probably getting the Poor Man’s version of whatever it is that they have to teach… Which might not really be much if they’re only trying to rope you into attending a live seminar.
— Sensible Advice
If you don’t see any good, practical, sensible advice being offered, then skip it. If there’s any murkiness, double talk, if there’s anything in there that doesn’t make sense, then you might just be getting roped into a Ponzi scheme or something. If it doesn’t make good, clear sense, then they probably don’t have anything useful to say to entrepreneurs trying to make it on their own terms.
