Basics of Home Interior Design 2
As we have discussed in short at the other article, we all know now that the idea of space in the interior design industry is really important, and this is more important when we are going to be looking at the resident as well. As someone who wants to change up their house and shake things up a little, what you need to know about is how you are going to be able to maximise that theme and make a perfect fit into the house that you are interested in. Maximising space is like putting on a good suit, if your suit is too big or too small, people are going to notice and it is not going to look nice or form fitting on you at all, and this is why you need to be acutely aware of the space that you have and how to use it to full effect. In this issue of the looking at home interior design, we will be looking at the aspect of colours and how to best use them within your house, and what to avoid of course. While there is no limitation on colour as it all depends on taste, there are some basic elements and mistakes that can be made if one is not careful about things at all.
Now, for one thing, the area that we need to look at is the complementation of colours. Now, when you are choosing a mood colour, what you need to know is that we are not going to be limiting the amount of colours you are going to apply to your home, but you need to have a base mood or a base colour that sets the mood and the tone of the entire house, and all other colours are going to get their cue from this. Now, if you want to liven and cheer up your place, bright oranges and yellows, maybe even exploding lime greens would be great as a base coat, and you can work your way from there. If you want to mellow up your place, and have a more sombre approach to colours, what is going to happen is that you might want to choose a deep and dark colour as your base, and you can work from there as well. How you choose your other colours are going to fiercely depend on how you are going to work the base colour and what your objectives are.
Now, these are some of the basic things about colour that cannot be avoided and you need to be able to master these concepts before we get into the more advanced ideas of how colour should be looked at and how it can be used to truly bring out a theme and make it come alive. These areas will be addressed in the next article, as well as some other more advanced techniques that can be applied to home interior design. With these pointers, success is but a sniff away.
