So the page is up, but now I have to get traffic to my blog. You want traffic to get sales. You need sales for profit, and the last thing you want to do is spend all the profits on getting more traffic. I’m not saying that you can’t pay, but it’s usually a good idea to start out with free methods. In fact, you may want to continue using free methods even if you include some paid ones too.

Get traffic to my blog using free methods may require a bit of work and time. One of the most popular free methods is writing articles. Many of the search engines like the article directories. Most of the directories are also free to submit too. Please be aware that they do not have to accept your article. Most of them have editorial guidelines that you need to follow. If you don’t follow them they will probably reject the article. You should also realize that some of the article directories use a manual version of accepting them. This could mean that you will have to wait a few days for them to review the article and either accept it or deny it. This is usually entirely free unless you have to hire someone to write for you. If you are not good at writing you may want consider this. There are some people out there that can write well without breaking your bank account paying for them to do so.

Another easy and free way to get traffic to my blog would be regular posts. Make the time to post frequently on your blog. You should also consider reading and making intelligent comments on other blogs in your niche. Leave a link to yours in the comment. There is also Trackback links to consider. If you quote another blog; use a Trackback link. This is wonderful because it will put a link on their page to your page.

Putting the link on your personal page at Facebook or Twitter is another way to get traffic to my blog. It is also free. You can pay for advertisements there, but putting the link on your wall does not cost you anything and everyone you are friends with can see and click on the link. The more people you are friends with the better result you will get, but most people will check out the link because they know who wrote it. It’s also a good way to get the word out because people like talking to other people about stuff they find on the internet.

Get your link out there. This is probably the most over looked method to get traffic to my blog. It may not always be free either, but you should consider putting your link on your business cards, newsletters, and email signatures. The more people see the link the better the chances that they will go, and if you make the link easy to find; well your chances are better. This is such a simple thing, but it’s something people tend to not think about.
