First year college students are excited about stepping into a whole new world. If you are one of them, you need to be prepared for a lot of many new situations that you never have encountered before. There are loads of things that you need to consider, and this includes preparing your college classes by having complete and important school supplies that will certainly help you along your academic life.

Backpack
A college student has a very busy everyday life. From early morning classes, to organization meetings, to lunch breaks, and library study time, all these happens away from your dwelling place. In order to save extra time and effort, it would be best if you take a backpack with you containing all the things you need for the day. College students consider any backpack a lifesaver to their everyday rush, because there is no assurance if you will have a locker where you can stock your belongings between classes. Make sure that you choose a durable backpack so it will last long as it is supposed to be.

Computer/Laptop
This high tech device makes studying and researching easier and more convenient for college students. Many students consider taking their laptop with them during classes to take notes, in the library to do research, and even to the coffee shop to complete their homework. Having your own computer or laptop will give you the advantage of completing your task ahead of time since you can continue your school work at your own dorm room. Including a printer in the computer or laptop set will also be helpful in time when you need to print some requirements.

Notebooks, Pens and Highlighters
College students are usually involved in reading and note-taking most of the time. Highlighters are functional in reading a book when you need to mark important parts, while pens are needed to take extra notes in the margins of the pages. Taking down notes during classes will aid in giving you accurate and complete reference to study.

Folders and Envelopes
You will probably be provided with a lot of handouts for each subject, and you might want to keep all of them for future use. Aside from this, you will also be receiving back your test papers, which you also want to keep. Be organized by using folders and envelopes where you can stack all these papers per subject so you will not get confused in searching for them. These handouts and test papers will act as a reviewer for future exams and assignments.

Planner
Keeping a planner will help you maintain things organized and up-to-date. This will help you remind of due dates of requirements, cut off of credit card line, class schedule, meetings, make up class, important dates, and other things you need not to miss.

While many of these things I would recommend that you bring along, you’re going to find that you may not need them. Be sure to look at your college’s website, because you’re going to find that many of them will supply you with a list.
