Printing Made Easier by High-Tech Equipment
Anyone who is involved in the printing trade will know how hard it can sometimes be to get a true and clear image. In days gone by, colors tended to bleed into each other and this left quite a fuzzy looking image. Of course, with the way things stand today, no one is happy with this kind of image so the quest to get something clearer and clearer is ongoing. Screen platesetters have cured the problem to some extent so the clear image is no longer a dream. A platesetter will certainly give the result that is needed every time.
This kind of printer will give a somewhat similar finish article like those that we get at home with our computer set ups. The one difference is that they do this on a much larger scale. Because of the cost of this kind of machine though it is often advisable to get used or second hand equipment, particularly if this is a new publication house setting up.
The machines range from between four thousand and twenty thousand dollars and this is just the second hand ones. One can imagine what the new ones would cost so the used market is very vibrant indeed. Since the price range is so broad too, it is obvious that most outlets will find what they want at just the right price. Most companies that sell these used machines have professionals in charge who can handle just about any question that could be asked. Each benefit will be explained fully, and with some expert help, a good decision will obviously be made which the buyer can live with. Some people argue that this expert advice makes the product a little more expensive, but considering that the right machine will be bought because of the advice, it is clear that this is not false economy.
The more modern equipment will use one of three methods for printing; external drum, internal drum and capstan. However, with the advanced technology comes a much higher price tag. This can be anything from twenty thousand to seventy five thousand dollars. It is vital then that they are bought from reputable sources who guarantee the parts etc so that costly errors are not made. Losing money at this stage could well mean a business collapsing before it actually gets off the ground.
Some companies really go out of their way to make sure that their clients are well taken care of. After all, a disgruntled client will be only too willing to spread the bad words around. If a company gets this bad reputation they are likely to lose a whole lot of business sometime in the future. So do not be afraid to compare what different companies offer either. This is truly the case of ‘the customer is king’ particularly when so much money is being used. It has never been easier to comparison shop, even for huge outlays like this, since the internet came into existence and any company worth its salt will literally bend over backwards to please a prospective client.
