Getting Rid of Creepy Crawlies Takes Some Time
There are many pests which want to invade our homes to see what they can get in the way of food and water. Indeed, if there were no pests, exterminators would be out of a job. However, since pests are there in abundance, there are some things that the householder can do to try to hold these little devils at bay. For example, those who want get rid of fleas must first sort out the pets they have in the home and those that want to get rid of roaches must certainly look at the situation in the kitchen etc.
Animals are notorious for bringing in biting insects from outside. Their thick fur will be the ideal hiding place for tiny creatures and the only way that the owner will know that something is amiss is when the pet starts to itch incessantly, or the owner also starts to get bite marks on the legs etc. This pest is not bothered whether it is animal or human blood that it sucks as long as it is fed. First, the pet should be brushed thoroughly, outside of course, to loosen any mites that have hidden themselves in the fur. Then it should either be dusted with the appropriate powder, available from pet shops, or shampooed with the correct liquid. Once dry, the pet should wear a collar containing some form of chemical which kills the pest.
In the home, this kind of pest will hide in carpets and in cracks around the skirting boards so a good vacuuming is necessary. Within the bag of the vacuum, put another chemical collar so that if any of the pests are sucked up, they will not escape from here. Furnishings too will have to be cleaned thoroughly and they may take some spraying with the appropriate insecticide as well. Indeed, treat this like an invasion, otherwise, the eggs that have been left behind will hatch and the cycle will start all over again.
Kitchens will always attract pests which crawl and feed on just about anything that is left out there. Cockroaches are a little disgusting to look at and they move extremely fast too. This pest is looking for scraps or crumbs and it will lay eggs somewhere where there is a good food supply. These creatures are notoriously difficult to get rid of and it is said that these are the only living thing that will survive in a holocaust. By now, they probably outnumber humans anyway so this should give some indication of how hardy they are.
The trick to controlling them is to put down poison bait in hidden corners. If a dead body is spotted, leave it there since the others will feed on it too and then die. Keep the kitchen and other areas as clean as possible and use sprays where poison is inappropriate. In both these situations, if all else fails, call in an exterminator to spray the house with stronger chemicals if proprietary brands are not working.
