Exercise Secrets You Can Use

Like eating is important for life, so is exercising for a healthy lifestyle. When clubbed with proper diet, it helps in maintaining adequate Body Mass Index (BMI). Exercise should ideally be part of your daily life, and not an auxiliary activity. And remember, there are no shortcuts. Any supplementary food or special exercise machine will not dramatically reduce fat to give you your desired outlook. You will certainly have to work towards it, regularly and methodologically. However, you can always use some of the tips offered below to maximize the outcome of a thorough exercise program.

1) Warm up and calm down: Why should you warm up well? Your body undergoes various changes when you initiate a physical activity. The kind of intensity a workout exerts on your body, it may not be advised to bear it when your body is at rest. Prepare your body for the physical stress that an exercise routine may ask for. If not done so, your body may not respond very well during the workout and may not produce results as you may have expected. A good warm up, that includes a good deal of stretches, helps you to loosen up your joints and muscles, making them less prone to injuries. As you understand the importance of a nice warm up before your main workout, you are also emphasized with the importance of cooling down well after post your routine. Your may run yourself into the risk of serious injuries (internal and external) if your body is not cooled down properly after your workout.

2) Breathe well: Remember how your trainer emphasizes on your breath-in-breath-out routine? That’s important. The way you breathe while you exercise may help you to burn a few more calories. Don’t rush through your exercises, relish it. Exhale while you are in release phase of an exercise and inhale during exertion. The way you breathe while exercising determines how much oxygen and blood your muscles get. This alone can accentuate your workout and its impact.

3) Only change is constant: Sticking to a single exercise may lead to boredom and demotivate you over a period of time. Shuffle your routine, add new exercises, change the incline on your treadmill, change weights or change your diet plan. If need be, changes your gym uniform or the songs you listen to while exercising. Any such thing that brings in new vigor to your routine is good; go for it.

4) Go outdoors: Striking a right balance between indoor and outdoor environments may work wonders for you. If you are doing weights indoors, you may go for a cardio routine outdoors; if you are doing yoga indoors, you may go for a hike or jog outdoors at times. The freshness of outdoor environment will add value to your exercise routine. This mix of indoor and outdoor activities will not only be suit to your varying mood but also will impact various aspects of your health, giving you a wholesome workout. Do remember to choose right kind of dress while going for an outdoor fitness program.

Simple and easy tweaks with no side effects, right? Try them out and you may experience a new joy in your exercise routine. However, it is advised to consult your trainer/ dietician/ doctor before introducing any major change in your routine.
