5 Types of First Aid Training
First aid training helps you to be prepared for nearly any medical emergency without any fear or difficulty. As a first aid trained person you can help save a human life which is probably the best thing about this training. There is no hard and fast rule that people belonging to a certain profession should only take up first aid training.
For some of the professional like doctors, nurses, lifeguards, child care persons etc it is mandatory to be first air trained. Also all educational institutions, hospitals and child care centers etc should nominate their staff in turns to undertake first aid training. As most of the times the staffs in these organizations do not know how to make use of even the first aid kit when there is an emergency of an injury or drowning accident. Nevertheless anyone can learn first aid techniques and get certified as well if required without belonging to a particular profession.
Depending on the individual requirements of a person to obtain first aid training one can choose from the various first aid training modules that are available. The various types of first aid training are enumerated as follows:
– Basic First Aid and Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) which can be pursued by person associated with schools and various social communities.
– Child and Infant First Aid Training which can be taken by those involved in child care centers, pediatric staff, baby sitting center staff etc. This training is different from the first aid training that can be used on an adult.
– Sports Safety First Aid Training which as the name suggests is best for persons associated with sports wings staff, physical fitness instructors, swimming instructors, other adventure sports persons etc.
– Basic Aid Training(BAT) which involves learning first aid techniques to be used on children in the age group of 8 to 10 years.
– Lastly Pet First Aid Training which is specifically for persons associated with veterinary clinics, veterinary hospitals and anyone else who owns a pet.
Anyone wishing to take up first aid training should check the course curriculum so that their need is fulfilled. It is necessary that each individual checks for general training on emergency planning and evaluation as well in the course curriculum.
Apart from obtaining first aid training it is necessary that anyone taking up these courses should gain the confidence to actually use these techniques in a medical emergency. It is the responsibility of the first aid trained persons to maintain the first aid kit properly. They should acquire thorough knowledge about things that are present in the first aid kit and how to use them. They should ensure to check the first aid kit for all the medicines and other things present in it and restock them at frequent intervals. This way one can help in maintaining the safety and health of all the persons at large. Being prepared for handling an emergency medical situation is half the battle won to saving a victim from dying. So be prepared, as the Boy Scouts say, with first aid training.
