A Funneriffic Summer: How to Spend Time With Your Kids This Summer

Summer is here. Thank GOD. You can finally snatch the kids away and spend much needed time with them. You missed your kids and you really want to bond with them this summer. But let\’s admit it. We are not actually familiar with what\’s cool and happening in this era when it comes to our kids. And yet all we want to do is to have a worth time with those little photocopies of ours. So what to do? How do we give our kids a funeriffic summer with us?

Here are sure fire ways to not only tickle your kids\’ fancy but also make them think that you are the coolest dad or mom in the world.

GOTTA LOVE H20
Who doesn\’t love swimming in this hot season? Yes, you can never ever go wrong with swimming. It\’s the ultimate gift to kids 6 and up. Remember, this is their break from school so let them run along and flap around the water — not without your guidance of course.

Tip # 1: If you’re staying at home and you plan to use the swimming pool, add a little twist. Arrange a pool party or barbecue at a date that is good for you and invite their friends over. This is also a great time to catch up with your friends. Cook some of your signature dishes, play some music and swim the day away.

Side Tip # 1: Hire a life guard for this event. You might be pre-occupied with cooking and entertaining guests that you might not keep an eye on your angels.

Side Tip # 2: If cooking is not your thing or you think that that is just too extravagant for this coming season; opt to order out food, call a good catering company or arrange a potluck. This will save you time and money.

Tip # 2: Take them to a beach where they have never been before.

Side Tip # 1: Teach them how to build sand castles.

Side Tip # 2: Take diving or surfing lessons together. This will surely boost your cool factor as a parent.

GET THEM UP AND RUNNING
Teach your kids a new sport. It may be basketball, football, tennis, golf, baseball, volleyball, soccer, bowling and swimming. You can sneak in some much needed exercise with this endeavor. Let them sweat a little. And — you\’ll never know. There might be an athlete in them somewhere.

Tip # 1: Dance Central is a game that lets you dance your pants off while following a simulation guide through the course of steps. This is a great way to put off stress and exercise those weary muscles. Purchase one. Your kids will just say amen to whatever you say after you do this.

GO CAMPING
Yes. Camping is still fun. Get a taste of the outdoors with this wonderful activity. This will help your kids to be independent and quick witted. Fire up a bonfire, tell family stories and cook up some smores and old fashioned corned beef and beans. This is the time to keep away from technology and to just spend one on one moment as a family.

Tip # 1: Don’t ever forget to bring insect repellent lotions and creams and mosquito nets for all when you sleep.

Tip # 2: If you don\’t want to leave the house then it\’s fine. Put out a tent outside and sleep over. Don\’t forget also to do some star gazing. Buy a constellation guide and help your kids point out the constellations. Reward them with smores, hot cocoa and a mommy or a daddy\’s kiss.

Go ahead and spoil your kids this summer with these super fun activities. Regain them from busy school work and noisy school buses. Make an effort to show them how important they truly are to you by letting them have a funeriffic time this summer time.
