Surfers Paradise Nightlife
When was the last time you partied so hard that you promised yourself that you will never do that again? Well if you find yourself in Surfers Paradise you may say that a few days in a row. Surfers Paradise, located on the Gold Coast in Queensland is truly a Sin City.
Apparently there are more bars and clubs per capita in Surfers Paradise than any other place on the planet. But that is mostly because Surfers Paradise is so small and Surfers Paradise nightlife is so active.
The main strip is called Cavil Avenue. This is a walking street that stretches onto Orchid Avenue (where most of the nightlife is located). There are a handful bars and pubs on all around this area. But Orchid Avenue is most famous for rows of Strip Clubs, Nightclubs and drinking venues.
The best nights of the week are Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Thursday is usually known as the Ladies night. This is mainly because nightclubs give free entry to all ladies and provide some kind of lady-entertainment.
However, don’t be fooled. Surfers Paradise gets packed every night of the week, including Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday as well. Different venues run different events on different days of the week. And depending on the season you may find yourself surrounded by backpackers or business professionals.
The locals are very friendly all year round. They are scarce though because Surfers Paradise tends to be a trendy place. It is party-central and not much else. A lot of people living in Surfers paradise are here to party and not much else. The industry is mainly hospitality based so if you are looking to make money and party at the same time, you found yourself in the right place.
Because of the Surfers Paradise nightlife, Surfers is not an ideal place to raise a family. Intoxicated guys and girls walk the streets throughout the wee hours of the morning. The police presence is there and noticeable.
But if you are here to party, well get your drink on. The most famous nightclubs in surfers are: Sin City Nightclub and Lounge Bar, Vanity nightclub and lounge bar, Shooters Nightclub, Melbas, Picture, Bourbon bar, Waxy’s Pub, and Beergarden. There are also many smaller pubs and lounges that keep popping up all over the place and usually last a season or two.
The entry into most of the places is between $10 and $20 and drinks usually start at around $8 for a mixed drink or beer to over $20 for cocktails. During winter some of the clubs offer all you can drink for a 2 hour period (between 9-11pm) and half price entry. To get free entry you really have to be connected or know one of the promo staff.
Even though Surfers Paradise is becoming somewhat of a hustler city, with promo staff lurking around the streets trying to get you into the less famous venues by offering 1 free drink or free entry, you really do get what you pay for.
