The Skys the Limit in Las Vegas – A Review of the Stratosphere Hotel

Las Vegas is a city without limits. Everything is bigger, brighter and, in many ways, better in Vegas. Its that philosophy, along with the commercially driven desire to out do the competition that has led to Las Vegas becoming the home to some of the most impressive, luxurious and down right insane hotel structures anywhere in the world. You just need to look at structures like the Venetian with its indoor canals or New York New York\’s with its indoor version of New York City to realise Vegas hotels are done slightly differently. The Stratosphere is certainly in the same realms of fantasy, if not necessarily the best or most luxurious hotel in Vegas is does offer plenty in the way of outlandish Vegas experiences.

The Stratosphere hotel is the tallest building in Las Vegas and is located at the north end of the strip. It is within walking distance of the Las Vegas Convention Center and only five miles from the airport. The Freemont street expierence is nearby giving you the taste of old Las Vegas. This hotel also has the added attraction of being the tallest free standing observation tower in the United States. This tower has a fantastic view of the city and you can have drinks or dinner while sitting in the revolving tower.

For added excitement there are three thrill rides atop this tower. For those who are thrill seekers there is sky jumping and free-falling rides that can make for the most thrilling experience in your life. A great advantage of staying in this hotel is that it is free to go to the top of the tower whenever you would like. The view is so amazing. I couldn\’t imagine a better place for drinks after a long day of sight seeing and gambling. There are both inside and outside observation decks.

The hotel houses two pools, a great casino and many shops for finding great souvenirs, fashions and anything else you could want. The buffet is one of the best in the city with reasonable prices. The choices were good and the food was hot and fresh. Johnny Rockets Cafe is located in the hotel. This fun and interesting restaurant has great hamburgers, malts and other old time treats. This is also a well priced choice for eating in the hotel. There is a good Italian restaurant and a Starbucks as well. With the additional restaurants it would be easy to have all your meals in this one place.

The rooms were clean and large, but they did smell a bit like smoke, even though my room was smoke free. Maybe I am just sensitive. The shower was large and adequate towels were offered. No expense was spared in decorating these rooms and they looked like rooms you would find in a higher priced hotel. Because the rooms were so reasonably priced, I didn\’t mind that there was a extra fee to use the Internet. Although I was little surprised.

This is a very well priced hotel with all the amenities you would want for having a great stay in Las Vegas. Check online for some of the specials for poker players and conventions. There is also a two for one coupon for their fantastic buffet that you should be sure to use. You can get tickets for the shows offered in the showrooms at this hotel in advance to make sure you do not miss your favorite show.
