How to Stop Wanting to Smoke

There are plenty of people who have quit smoking, but talk to any of them and most will tell you that they still want to smoke. So is it really possible to not only quit smoking, but to lose the craving for cigarettes too?

When it comes to giving up smoking, do you picture a gloomy existence for yourself without your cigarettes? Do you see your future-self as a person who has given up smoking yet still longs for a cigarette?

If this sounds like you then it’s no wonder that you find it difficult to quit smoking. How can you possibly have any motivation o stop if you only see your future cigarette-free existence plagued with constant deprivation?

As humans, we are motivated by our feelings. If something makes us feel good we want more of it. But if something makes us feel bad we try and avoid it.

So if you think that giving up smoking will lead to a life of feeling miserable because you’re always longing for a cigarette but not being able to have one, then it’s no wonder that you don’t want to stop smoking.

If you’re dreading spending the rest of your life without cigarettes, then no matter how many times, or how many ways, you try to quit, you’ll always fail. And that’s because you have absolutely no motivation to do it. Thinking about quitting makes you feel bad, so you make a pretense at trying to quit – using this or that product or this or that course – Silagra but you know before you begin that you’re not going to make it.

And the reason that you know you’re not going to make it is because what you’re really looking for isn’t a way to stop smoking, but a “magic pill” that will MAKE you want to stop smoking.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if you could swallow a magic pill before you go to bed at night and wake up in the morning with your desire to smoke gone for good?

Imagine getting up tomorrow morning and feeling free and in control of your life again because you’re no longer a slave to cigarettes.

How great would it be to take your packet of cigarettes and gleefully throw them in the bin? Can you even begin to imagine how happy you’d feel if you never wanted to smoke a cigarette ever again?

But sadly there is no magic pill that can take away your urge to smoke. So you have to remain chained to your addiction to cigarettes for ever.

Or do you…?

If you really do want to stop smoking for good you must first WANT to stop smoking.

You have to look at giving up smoking positively instead of negatively. For a start, stop using the phrase “giving up”. This in itself is a negative term.

When you stop smoking for good, you’re not “giving up” anything. Instead you are freeing yourself from your addiction to cigarettes and regaining control of your life.

Being a smoker can make you feel as though you’ve lost control over part of your life because you feel forced to smoke even though you don’t want to. You’re helpless and you hate it.

So start looking at all the great things that are going to happen in your life once you’re a non-smoker.

You’ll finally be free of cigarettes. You won’t have to waste money on them any more. Smoking costs you thousands of dollars every year. But once you get cigarettes out of your life for good, you can spend all that money on things you really want instead of wasting in on unwanted tobacco products.

Think of how fantastic it’s going to be to be free of cigarettes. No more filthy ashtrays. No more stinking like a chimney. No more wasting money.

Your health will improve, your skin will improve, you’ll smell better and feel great. And isn’t that what you really want?

So keep thinking of how great you’re life as a non-smoker is going to be and let it fill your mind every day.

And before you know it, you’ll have achieved your non-smoking goal and you’ll never want to smoke again.
