Affordable Attractions to Visit in Atlanta

Going to Atlanta does not mean you have to spend a fortune. There are plenty of free and inexpensive activities for all.

These activities can be done as a family, on a date or alone. You will find plenty of affordable parks, exhibits and more in the great city of Atlanta.

Another place to view great art is the Savannah College of Art & Design Galleries. Here you will be able to view contemporary art without having to spend a dime.

Year round tours are given of Dr. King’s home, his church and his burial site. The Sweet Auburn District is another interesting historic site to visit.

This neighborhood reflects the history and heritage of Atlanta’s African Americans. The Georgia State Capitol allows guests to take self-guided tours and learn about the history of the building.

The Georgia Governor’s Mansion invites all to tour the mansion and learn more about southern hospitality. Now we will discuss some great attractions that are not free but are very affordable.

None of these attractions will cost you more than $10 to visit. The Atlanta Cyclorama is the largest diorama painting in the world.

The painting revolves around viewers and only costs $7 to see. The Fernbank Science Center is one of the nation’s largest planetariums.

This planetarium features nature trails and an observatory. If you’ve always wanted to go to a drive-in movie, but have never been able to find a theater, they still exist in Atlanta!

The Starlight Six Drive-In Theater shows current motion pictures year round at a very affordable price. The World of Coca Cola is an exciting place to visit.

Learn all about one of the world’s most popular beverages. It costs less than $10 for youth, but is a little more for adults.

It may be worth it to you though because you will get to visit the tasting room and try out more than 70 different products. Stone Mountain Park is another attraction that won’t cost you too much.

This popular spot features the world’s largest mass of exposed granite. On Saturdays during Spring and Fall as well as Summer nights, experience the mountain light up during the Laser Show Spectacular.

A few other cheap places to visit in Atlanta are the Preservation Center, the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library & Museum, and the Center for Puppetry Arts, Museum & Special Exhibits. As you can see, there are so many things for you to do in Atlanta without breaking the bank!
