Free Things to Do in Denver

If you are headed to Denver or if you are a local just looking for something to do, chances are you are hoping it will not cost you an arm and a leg! Guess what?

Your trip does not have to! There are many great and interesting things to do in the Mile-High City without burning a hole in your wallet.

This beautiful city has so much to offer including outdoor activities, parks, tours and much more! If you are going to be in Denver on the first Tuesday of the month, then check out Viagra Jelly the Denver Children’s Museum.

From 4-8 pm guests are welcomed free of charge. This fun museum is a great place for kids to discover and learn while they play.

A few other places in Denver that usually cost money also have special free days. You will have to check their calendars, but the Botanic Gardens, the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, The Denver Art Museum, and the Denver Zoo all have special Kamagra days where you will not have to pay a thing to visit.

Another good tip, if you do go to the Denver Art Museum, ask for a family backpack. They are free and have many activities for kids in them.

The city of Denver also features some free museums including Dinosaur Ridge, a place to view prehistoric animal tracks; the Leanin’ Tree Museum and Sculpture Garden of Western Art, located in Boulder; the Littleton Historical Museum; the Colorado School of Mines Geology Museum; and the Mizel Museum of Judaica. You will also find plenty of free tours on your trip.

The U.S. Mint offers tours every hour from 8 am to 2 pm. On the tour you will learn how money is made and even get to see it in action.

Coors Brewery also offers tours. Coors is one of the best known companies in Colorado.

Or you could learn about tea on a tour at Celestial Seasonings. The Rocky Mountain Arsenal is another cool place that offers free programs including tram rides and wildlife programs.

Another interesting building to tour is the Brown Palace Hotel. This hotel offers tours every Wednesday and Saturday at 2 pm.

The 60 minutes tour will teach you about the history of the hotel as well as the history of Denver. If you have a sweet tooth, check out a tour at Hammonds Candies.

You will learn how candy is made and even get a taste of some candy on this 30 minute tour. One last great tour is at the Colorado State Capitol Building.

Here you can enjoy the beauty of the building as you learn about its history. You can even go up into the dome and get some great views of the city.

Something else this city offers is plenty of parks. With over 200 of them, you are sure to find one to enjoy.

A few of the more popular parks are Washington Park, Cheesman Park, Red Rocks Park, Four Mile Historic Park and Sloan’s Lake Park. If you love being outside many outdoor activities can be done in Denver including fishing, hiking, biking, and sports.

Some great places to walk or roller blade are along the paths that follow Cherry Creek or the Platte River. Not only will you be getting great exercise, but you will also see some great views.

If you love shopping, head over to the 16th Street Pedestrian Mall. These 15 blocks are lined with shops and restaurants.

You may also see some street performers. One great feature of this mall is you can ride the 16th Street Trolley for free!

Another great shop to visit is the Tattered Cover Bookstore. This bookstore is not your average big box bookstore.

It features an eclectic selection of books as well as cozy places to read them and free readings for children. Another fun, free thing to do in Denver is check out one of their festivals.

Many of them do not cost a thing such as the Cinco de Mayo Celebrate Culture Festival in May, the Cherry Creek Arts Festival in July, and the Parade of Lights downtown during December. Enjoy saving your money while still having a fabulous time in the Mile-High City!
