Lollapalooza Tickets – 2010 Lineup Announced

Though “early bird” specials have been sold out for months, the famous Chicago music festival Lollapalooza has just announced its official lineup. In line with the months-long headline speculations, Lady Gaga, recently reunited Soundgarden, Lolla veterans Green Day and others are all set to perform during the August 6-8 event in Chicago’s Grant Park.
Along with the event’s headliners, a long list of variable genre acts like Arcade Fire, the Strokes, Phoenix, MGMT, Jimmy Cliff, Hot Chip, the National, Grizzly Bear, Yeasayer, Gogol Bordello, the xx, the New Pornographers, Social Distortion and Spoon are set to perform. Do you want to be part of the annual music fest? Get ahead of the crowds and pick up Lollapalooza tickets online today.

Though music critics have quickly predicted some of the obvious headliners over the past few months, the Lolla team played Viagra Professional a few rounds of “Wheel of Fortune” guessing games last week, updating fans with letters as to which bands would make up 2010’s lineup. The official 130-band lineup is now available, boasting some of the most diverse names in its near two decade history with acts dedicated to indie rock, alternative pop, folk-electronica and much more. Though smaller artists like Erykah Badu have been getting tons of attention lately, organizer Perry Farrell thinks it’s all about Lady Gaga this year.

With Lady Gaga bringing Monster Ball to its largest crowd yet, Farrell said to Rolling Stone, “Lady Gaga represents to me the music industry today. She’s a good representation of where it’s at and where everybody’s trying to get to. If you look at the Grammys, it looked like everybody was trying to catch up to Lady Gaga.” Though Gaga has performed at the Chicago fest before, 2010 will mark the first time as a headlining act. Farrell reflects that she first performed at the small BMI Stage during 2007’s show – months before she was famous, had the name “Gaga” and was recognized for something other than pop.

Yet what makes Lolla impressive isn’t just its extensive acts but its philanthropic efforts. Lollapalooza annually donates a portion of each ticket purchased to the Parkways Foundation, a non-profit organization that helps restore parks in the local Chicago community. According to Lolla’s website the group has to-date donated over $5 million to the independent group, an effort that sets this music festival apart from so many others.

While Lolla’s fame might be dominated by the grass-stained Levitra Professional fans stumbling around its several stages throughout the day, as of 2009 the electronica booth Perry’s has remained a staple of the event, offering up electronic/hip-hop tunes during the weekend with artists like Kid Cudi, Deadmau5 and locals Yellow Fever, Dark Wave Disco. The festival takes advantage of its hospitable city with use of the parks for Lederhosen’s Biergarten, autograph booth, Playstation area and more. As the third highest grossing festival of 2009, reports Billboard Boxscore, its three-day sold-out special welcomed over 225,000 fans – a number the 2010 show is sure to beat.
