PPC Services – Sometimes It Is Just A Lot Of Fizz

Last year I was sold by a company to manage my pay per click advertising campaign on Google Adwords. I found them as an affiliate to where I was hosting my web sites. It cost me about $700 to get started and then I had to commit to a 3 month plan.

Before I even started with them, I had sent numerous e-mails being very specific about what I was doing, what I had done in the past and what my target audience was. They replied with e-mails from various sales people clarifying that they understood what I was looking for and that they could meet my needs.

I decided to trust them and signed up. After only a few days I was already beginning to feel that I had been taken for a spin. After taking my funds, they did not even begin to get started on my account for over a week. It wasn’t until after two weeks that they had something I could even begin to see. Their excuse was – we are having trouble uploading your project. This was odd to me because if you have ever used Google Adwords you know that it doesn’t take much uploading or downloading. Granted they needed to enter all of my data into their system, but I was already waiting for two weeks.

I should have discovered something was fishy when they kept changing the people in charge of my account. It did not seem like any of them knew what my target was anymore and after repeating myself in e-mails, I realized not much was going to change. They not only targeted on a generic keyword (thus completely wasting my ad word income on untargeted clicks) they also targeted the wrong geographic locations. I had to constantly tell them what to do and why. I didn’t feel like I had someone working with my best interests in mind. In fact, it started to feel like they simply outsourced my account to India (for those that have ever used services like Elance, you will know what I am talking about).

In the end I canceled my account and got a refund for the last month. They initially refused to give me a refund but I persisted and threatened to share my story with the World Wide Web – which is far more detailed than what you are reading in this post. My point is that you need Brand Viagra Professional”>Levitra Professional to be picky about your Pay Per Click – PPC campaign and make sure that you get it into the right hands. Many internet companies simply rely on the fact that most people don’t know much about the Internet or the tools being used and so you are easy prey. As a Web Designer I know that it doesn’t take much effort to change a link, or add a photo to a web site – but this simple process is easy to charge the lay person $20-$50 for such simple editing.

Google Adwords was designed to be run by you, but you can benefit from a certified expert if they truly understand your market. Even as an experienced Internet Entrepreneur I have fallen for the wrong companies. Don’t make the same mistake I did, be sure you get on the phone with the person in charge and ensure they know exactly what you are trying to accomplish – get it in writing before you agree to hire them and make sure that they stick to a very specific plan that clearly outlines that they understand your needs and what they plan to do about it.
