Sugarland Tickets – Sugarland Leads CMT Nods, Preps Fourth Album

Sugarland may be a relatively new kid on the country music block-the duo first rose to fame with the release of Twice the Speed of Life in 2004-but managed to tie with Jason Aldean and Lady Antebellum for the most nominations for the upcoming 2010 CMT Music Awards. All three acts secured four nominations for the CMT Awards, reported The Boot, which will air live from the country music capital of Nashville on June 9. The network announced the nominees on April 5, and fans can vote on CMT’s website until May 3 to narrow each category down to four finalists (most have eight currently).

Two of Sugarland’s songs, “Keep You” and “Nightswimming/Joey,” are nominated in the Duo Video of the Year category and will face off against Caitlin & Will (“Address in the Stars”), Bomshel (“Fight Like a Girl”), Brooks & Dunn (“Indian Summer” and “My Maria [Invitation Only]”), Steel Magnolia (“Keep on Lovin’ You”) and Joey & Rory (“Play the Song”). Sugarland’s rendition of “Love Shack” with the B-52s is nominated in the Collaborative Video of the Year category along with “Best Days of Your Life” (Kellie Pickler and Taylor Swift), “Heaven” (Jason Aldean and Bryan Adams), “Hillbilly Bone” (Blake Shelton and Trace Adkins), “Honky Tonk Stomp” (Brooks & Dunn and Billy Gibbons), “I’m Alive” (Kenny Chesney and Dave Matthews), “Ride Back Home” (John Mellencamp and Karen Fairchild) and “Somewhere Between Jennings and Jones” (Shooter Jennings and Jamey Johnson; from CMT Crossroads).

Lastly, Sugarland’s performance of “Love Shack” with the B-52s from the 2009 CMT Music Awards is up for CMT Performance of the Year. Other nominees in the category include “Consider Me Gone” (Reba McEntire; from Invitation Only), “Heaven”(Jason Aldean and Bryan Adams; from CMT Crossroads), “Lookin’ for a Good Time” (Lady Antebellum; from the 2009 CMT Music Awards), “Sideways” (Dierks Bentley from the 2009 CMT Music Awards) and “Southern Voice” (Tim McGraw; from Invitation Only). Voting for a winner in all categories except Video of the Year will begin on May 11.

Sugarland’s Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush are too busy to worry about which CMT Award they will win (if not all four!), because the duo is currently recording its fourth studio album. Tentatively titled The Incredible Machine, the forthcoming album is the follow-up to 2008’s Love on the Inside and will likely feature 10 or 11 new songs, reported Billboard.com. Nettles sat down with Billboard.com to chat about the album, which doesn’t have a release date just yet, and said she hopes fans can pick up the new album this fall.

Love on the Inside scored the country duo their first No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart and has sold 2,035,000 copies to date, and The Incredible Machine is poised to follow suit. In describing the process of recording the album, Nettles told Billboard.com, “We didn’t make it ballad heavy, though we do enjoy those moments of poignancy. The arrangements use different choices of instrumentation. I don’t know Kamagra Gold if there’s even a mandolin on this record.” Nettles also revealed that the album and the duo’s forthcoming tour are inspired by the “steampunk movement,” a strain of science fiction which imagines a world in which technology remained frozen in Victorian times while humans continued to evolve intellectually. “I describe it emotionally as bungee jumping and eating chocolate cake. It’s terrifying and gratifying, all at the same time,” explained Nettles.

Nettles and Bush will embark on their U.S. tour at Primm, Nevada’s Star of the Desert Arena on April 23. From there they will headline Cialis Professional shows at amphitheaters and arenas in cities like Concord, Calif.; West Valley City, Utah; Burgettstown, Pa.; Camden, N.J.; Saratoga Springs, N.Y.; Sioux Falls, S.D. and many more. The duo’s trek will also feature stops at music festivals like the Stage Coach Country Music Festival (in Indio, Calif. on April 24), Country Thunder (in Twin Lakes, Wis. on July 23) and Country Jam (in Eau Claire, Wis. on July 24).
