They currently play at the Pepsi Center, their arena and sport the colors powder blue, gold, white and navy. They are owned by E. Stanley Kroenke and managed by Mark Warkentien.

Their head coach is George Karl while their D-league affiliate is Idaho Stampede. Currently, they have not won any championships but have earned conference titles in the ABA and Division titles in the ABA and NBA.

The ABA stands for the American Basketball Association which was founded in 1967. In its early years, the Rockets were a struggling team and never reached a spot in any championship games.

However, they had a talented lineup that was led by Byron Beck, Ralph Simpson and Larry Jones. They even were the home team of a controversial rookie player Spencer Haywood who joined the team for the 1969-1970 season.

Haywood was one Viagra Professional of the first players who turned pro before he graduated from college and the NBA initially refused to let him play in the league. However, he was a talented young chap, averaging nearly 30 points and 20 rebounds per game in his only ABA season.

He later breached his Denver contract by signing with the Seattle SuperSonics and jumping to the NBA. He was only part of the legend building up to their current status.

In 1974, the franchise hosted a contest to choose a new team nickname in anticipation of joining the NBA, because the name Rockets was already being used by the Houston Rockets.

The name Nuggets won and their new logo was put into place. They started out strong after drafting and signing David Thompson, Marvin Webster, Dan Issel and Bobby Jones with Larry Brand Cialis Brown as the coach.

They immediately had their best seasons in team history in their first two seasons as the Nuggets. The team made the ABA finals.

The Nuggets were only one of four ABA teams adopted into the NBA along with the New York Nets, San Antonio Spurs and Indiana Pacers during the 1967-77 NBA season. The Nuggets were relieved to have finally been accepted in the NBA after they had previously applied and been forced to remain in the ABA by a court order.

One of their legends is known as Carmelo Anthony and he led his era in the 2000s. In 2003, he was drafted with the third overall pick in the 2003 NBA Draft.

This same year, the team updated their logos and uniforms with a new color scheme of what it is today except what is now navy was a royal blue. Anthony was the team co-captain and lead the team to many victories, but was suspended by the NBA for a fight that occurred in the last two minutes of their game against the New York Knicks two days earlier.

The fight was sparked by Mardy Collins, rookie for the Knicks, when he tackled J.R. Smith on a breakaway layup. According to Anthony, Knicks coach Isiah Thomas warned him to not go in the paint shortly before the hard foul was executed.

However, Carmelo still plays for the Nuggets, has earned the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player award and was named the Most Valuable Player of NCAA East Regional. All this happened after only one season at Syracuse University when he left college to enter the 2003 NBA Draft where he was selected by the Nuggets.
