Los Angeles beaches may almost be as much of an icon as Disneyland or even the Hollywood area with its popular sign. They are just as much fun to visit and way more versatile.

You can swim, surf, make sand castles, play volleyball, play soccer, play frisbee and much more. It is a great place for friends and family to gather of all ages and interests.

The waves are salty and fun for boogie boards, surfing, skim boarding, body boarding, wind surfing and much more. The options really are endless with the sand and waters of the California coast.

Sometimes, with so many beaches (more than twenty) people have a difficult time choosing which one or two to visit during their vacations. Here is a list of the best Los Angeles beaches according to type and interest to help you choose the right ones for you.

You can also ask locals or travel guides which ones they recommend, but here is a list. You can visit one or all of them while you are in Kamagra Soft town.

Then, eventually you can pick your own favorites between Dockweiler, El Matador, Manhattan, Redondo, Santa Monica, Venice, Zuma and Paradise Cove, to name a few. There are so many to choose from.

The different beaches are good for different activities, so they are listed by type. For surfing, try Zuma where locals love this location just north of Malibu for its good waves and clean water.

However, if you do not want to make the twenty mile drive, you can find lots of surfing buddies still at Manhattan Beach. These are the ones with the biggest waves and surfer friendly waters.

There are great options for people watching also. Venice is one of LA’s quirkiest beaches and it is known as one of the most interesting as it attracts many characters that are fit or getting fit for any Hollywood movie.

Yes, this is the one you want for fitness gurus and related activities. Many people come to Venice to get in shape and burn calories out in the sun.

Perhaps the best location for walking and strolling is Manhattan which has a long, paved walking path with Santa Monica Bay views that make it a favorite place to take a stroll. It is friendly to all ages.

The best overall beach experience can be found at Paradise Cove which is a small, private location that offers a charming, old fashioned experience and a restaurant right on the sand. This is a favorite for many that frequent LA.

The best location for playing volleyball is Manhattan again. This is the birthplace of beach volleyball and home of the world’s first beach volleyball tournament.

For a great bonfire, try Dockweiler which is one that actually permits bonfires. For romance, try El Matador which is secluded in northern Malibu and has a great view of the sunset for you and your sweetheart to enjoy.

If you have children coming, try Redondo as it has lots of sand to play in, a pier full of amusements and a long, paved path for biking or skating. Your kids will be entertained until they run out of energy.

Santa Monica Beach is also nice for amusements as it has lots to do in its amusement park on the pier. For a weekend getaway, try Redondo which has a pier, beach and marina to serve up plenty of activities to keep you busy during an entire weekend.

Then, if you are looking to bare it all, there are no nude beaches in Los Angeles County, but you can try the nearest option in San Onofre. Los Angeles County is more family friendly than that.

Be forewarned that the sunshine in California is not like that of many other places. There is a foggy blanket that covers the sky, so it is not quite as bright as many expect.

It may also be cooler as the temperatures rise, and the cool air is pulled off of the moist marine inland. Some days, the fog and low clouds disappear early, but sometimes, they hang over the beaches until the mid to late afternoon.

Either way, you will want to wear sunscreen and have a good time. They are a great vacation destination year round.
