Brandi Carlile Tickets – Moving to the Next ‘Ghost’

If you haven’t been knocked to the floor by angst feminine rock lately, then you haven’t seen Brandi Carlile. Promoting Give up the Ghost with a slew of North American dates through the summer, this Washington native is appropriately part of the Sarah McLachlan festival Lilith Tour, a touring special that empowers female musicians.

Meanwhile, Carlile’s European jaunt was forced to be postponed until October recently due to the Icelandic volcanic rupture. The event won’t get Americans down, especially those who ventured online and picked up Brandi Carlile tickets as she hits up cities like Nashville, Richmond, Phoenix, San Diego, Dallas, Grand Rapids and more.

Supporting her third set, the Rick Rubin produced prescription cialis generic Give up the Ghost, Carlile’s folk pop fusion in the album earned her placement in Billboard’s Top 30. The September 2009 release led with the Elton John collaboration “Caroline,” but was just the beginning for great Carlile hits that come in the form of “Looking Out” and “Dreams.” Just as chilly as Ghost’s precursor The Story, 2009’s release is described as the passing of time rather than life.

“To give up the ghost is not just to die since we do it a handful of times throughout our lives. It’s a sort of leaving yourself behind,” Carlile says on her website, “or what you knew yourself to be so that you can grow and transcend love or youth…sometimes both.” Illustrated as her “most candid recording to date,” the third effort allows Carlile to really expand her brand.

Besides recording with legend Elton John, Carlile was also given the opportunity to record with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Benmont Tench, Chad Smith and Amy Ray of the Indio Girls. Though Carlile only debuted a full length studio set in 2005, her old soul plays well to these veteran musicians in Give up the Ghost, a set that remains her best selling to date.

Just 23 years old when she released her debut, Carlile grew up on her parent’s music like Patsy Cline, an image that helped push the teenage Carlile into the industry by 2000. “I’ve been listening to country and western music my whole life and I was totally immersed in Grand Ole Opry culture, wherein the entertainers are usually not the ones who wrote the music,” she continues on her website. “But when I was 11 and discovered Elton John, I realized that performers do write and perform their own songs, and I immediately went out and got a keyboard and started writing.”

One of the few artists to successfully pen nearly all the tracks on her albums, Carlile has reenvisioned the music industry. Writing comes naturally to the young star, who finds inspiration in her life outside of the studio. Take “Caroline,” a favorite on Give up the Ghost that was inspired by Carlile’s niece. Writing tunes like “Dreams,” the leading single from the new album, it is clear that her energy lives beyond the album, and once again its clear Carlile has given up her latest “ghost” for another stage in her career.
