Family Party Planning For Elderly People

Family parties always seem so much more stressful than any other, particularly in the planning stage. For some reason there seems to be more pressure, as family have higher expectations. There are also more considerations; you need to cater for the youngest niece/nephew, to the hyperactive School children, to the party starved adults, to the oldest grandparent. Do you have a spare cot, children’s games and a stair lift? Here are some key considerations for any family parties you host this summer.

Is there a quiet room where a travel cot can be put up for the baby to sleep? It needs to be far enough away from the play room that the noisy older children will not disturb the baby but close enough to the main body of the party that the baby monitor will work for the parents.

Have you dedicated one room to be the children’s play room? This room should have all breakable items removed and ideally as few sharp corners for bashing heads on as possible. For some reason children love to play upstairs so rather than have them wander up there anyway why not make the playroom upstairs so you know where they are? Leave some board games in there and maybe some teddies and a TV with a selection of Disney / Pixar films. If you do decide to do this though, make sure any inappropriate films are out of sight and reach.

Food which caters for everyone can be more difficult than it seems. A large lasagne may seem like a good idea but what if one of your impulsive nieces has decided to become a vegetarian? A big pot of chilli con carne or curry needs to be spicy enough for the adults but mild enough for the children. Good options could be a few ‘standard’ pizzas which can be enjoyed by adults and children alike, possibly a large lasagne and a medium size spicy dish. Quiche is a great option for vegetarians plus the usual buffet options of salad, cheese and sausage rolls.

Do you have a downstairs toilet? If not then consider whether you need a rental stair lift. If you have any older or Kamagra mobility impaired guests then a stair lift may be vital as they will need to use the toilet. You can get rental stair lifts for different types of staircase and they are surprisingly affordable. They tend to have an immobiliser key to ensure that the children cannot play on it and hurt themselves and the price includes any call outs and servicing required whilst you have it.

Don’t let your summer be any more stressful than is absolutely necessary, be prepared by considering these key pain points and then relax and enjoy the party.
