How to Detail Your Own Car like a Professional
Are tired of going to expensive car washes and waiting around for them to detail your car, only to get your vehicle back and find it was not completed to your standards? There is nothing more irritating than paying for quality care for your car, and not receiving it.
Well, there is another option for you-do it yourself! It can actually be easy, rewarding, and even kind of fun to see and enjoy the immediate results of your work.
All you will need to begin, depending on the condition of your car, is some Kamagra Carnauba wax, a buffer and Lamb wool pad, some touchup paint if necessary, leather cleaner and conditioner, wet tire, tar remover, a microfiber cloth, and some warm soapy water to wash your car. You can find all of these things at any car store, or automobile section of any major retail or home improvement store.
The first thing you need to do is give your car a detailed wash. Use a quality formulated car wash detergent and follow the directions exactly-turning on some music while you work can make this a fun and even relaxing process.
You should always wash and dry your car in the shade, or in your garage if that is possible. Completely dry your car with soft, non-linting clothes, and check your surfaces for tar along the bottom edges of your painted surfaces.
To remove any tar, try using some cooking oil or mayonnaise on a rag or microfiber cloth. The oil will naturally dissolve any tar and keep it from smearing over the finish of your car.
Now that your car is clean, use a surface cleaner to wash the inside and outside of each of your windows. Use a soft cloth that will not shed to wipe away any smudges or fingerprints.
If you have a vacuum with a long hose and attachments, vacuum out all the surfaces of your interior. Make sure to get under the seats, the mats, and the cracks in the seats.
You can even remove the mats and shampoo them with warm soapy water. Make sure that they dry completely before you put them back in your car.
Now is the time to address any stone chips or scratches that you may find in your finish. Carefully inspect all the painted surfaces of your finish and mark them with a small piece of masking take.
Use your touchup paint to match your car finish-this is available from your car dealership, or a well equipped auto supply store. Make sure that it is absolutely exact, and that you follow the directions explicitly!
Take a small detailing brush and carefully dab paint into the chip area. Go slow, and use very little paint-let it dry overnight.
Now is decision time. If your car is new, relatively new, or has a great looking paint finish you can use a good quality carnauba paste wax.
If your finish has some slight oxidation, you will have to get a cleaner wax, which has a very fine buffing grit. If your surface is heavily oxidized, you will need to use a buffing compound for your first step and follow up with cleaner wax, and then the carnauba wax.
Carnauba wax will be the wax of choice as it will give you the best showroom appearance. Next, if you wish, you can buff your car.
Selection of a car buffer is an important step. You use different buffing speeds for different operations.
To get heavy oxidation off, you need quite high speeds and more pressure. For polishing with the final wax, it is slow and light pressure.
Always apply the wax or buffing compound directly on the lamb’s wool buffing wheel , and never on the car finish itself. With all waxes and compounds start at the top and work your way down.
When using buffing compound, stay away from painted surfaces on sharp corners. You can quickly burn through not only the clear coat, but through the paint too.
Once you have removed all your wax, clean your wheels with a wheel cleaner to get all the brake dust off all painted or plated surfaces. If your tires are in bad shape, you may need a tire cleaner.
If they are clean, spray apply a wet tire spray on all rubber. If you want a semi-gloss finish on the rubber, wipe it down-if you want your rubber to look wet, let the agent dry on the tires. Be sure to apply as evenly as possible.
As you can see, it is not too difficult to invest in a few products, and save money by detailing your car yourself. The feeling is rewarding, and you will love the results!
