Seven Ways Of Improving Self-confidence

Many people with anxiety disorders lack self-confidence. Self-confidence allows you to be positive about yourself and your situation. When you are self-confident, you assert yourself better, you relate to others well and do not become diffident at the slightest indication of hardship.

If you have anxiety disorders, what then are the ways of improving or developing self-confidence? The following six suggestions will be helpful.

Have you anxiety disorder cured
By getting a cure, you will be addressing the root cause of your lack of self-confidence. My website provides detailed information on some of the anxiety disorder treatment services that are available online (see the website address at the bottom of this article).

Overcome fear of disapproval
Do not be forced to tow the line simply because you want approval from others. Do not do things simply to please others even though they may be at your expense. Do not rest your happiness largely on the approval you get from others. Learn to look up to yourself and the things you do for happiness. Avoid negative relationships where you have to bootlick or get somebody’s nod to be happy. View positive social relationships as a resource you must use to enhance the happiness and satisfaction of yourself and those who matter to you.

Diarise your successes
Keep a diary of any successful actions you take on a daily basis, no matter how small such successes may be. Find a couple of times in a month to read through your diary and reflect on your successes. Interpret what each of these successes is saying about you. For example, if your success was passing an exam, then what this says about you is that you are intelligent. Therefore, hold on to this view that you are an intelligent person.

Avoid perfectionism
Do not always expect perfection from your actions or from the actions of others. When perfection is not possible or it comes at too great a sacrifice, then be humble enough and settle for what is within reach. Things that are less than perfect are not worthless. They can be good, very good and even excellent and worthwhile.

Think positively about yourself
Think positively about yourself and your situation. Avoid thoughts that undermine your dignity as a person. For example, under no circumstances Cialis should you label yourself as dumb, stupid or foolish. Remember, what you think is what you feel and act. If you constantly tell yourself that you are foolish, then it becomes impossible to be confident and assertive in your actions and relationships.

Have a proper view of failure
When you try to do something and it does not succeed; take it for what it is- failure of human effort. Remind yourself that at one point or another every human fails. Therefore, you should not view yourself any less than how confident people view themselves.

Count your blessings
Each one of us in one or more respects, have something that most other people do not have. For example, if you have a job, think of how many people in this world are jobless. If you have children, think of how many people cannot have children. If you are beautiful, think of how many people are not blessed with looks. If you are in good health, think of how many people are sick. In short, think of your positives or the ways in which you are more fortunate than other people and use these as pillars for building self confidence.

There is a lot more you can do to improve your self-confidence. On my website, there is a page that links you to self-help programs for developing self-confidence.
