Take Part in Denver’s Annual Events

Denver is always a fun city to visit. It is also a very nice place to live.

Whether you are living there or just visiting for a few days, something fun is usually always taking place. This article will give you an idea of the many annual events that take place in Denver, so no matter what part of the year you are going, there will be something fun for you to take part in.

Starting with January you will find the National Western Stock Show and Rodeo. This event is nearly a century old and features over 15,000 animals.

The animals are displayed and many of them are sold at this event. There is also a huge rodeo which is fun for all ages.

Also in January is the Martin Luther King Parade. It is actually the largest Martin Luther King Jr. parade in the United States.

Lastly, January is the month of the Denver Kids Expo. Plenty of entertainment, interactive exhibits and kids’ activities take place at this expo.

February, the month of love, features the Be My Denver Valentine Treasure Hunt. This event is great for couples who are looking for a unique way to celebrate the holiday.

For those who enjoy racing, you may want to check out the National Arenacross Series. It features three days of indoor motorsports.

March is the month of the annual Orchid Carnival. Expert growers are there to give you advice and to sell you beautiful orchids.

Also in March is the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. It is Denver’s largest annual parade and features horses, marching bands, floats and plenty of fun.

April brings in the Women’s Expo and the Cherry Creek Sneak. Silagra The Cherry Creek Sneak has participants race, walk, sprint or crawl through a five-mile course.

May offers the largest Cinco de Mayo celebration in the United States. This event takes place at Civic Center Park where hundreds of booths sell Latino food, crafts, and more.

Also in May is the Downtown Denver Arts Festival. This festival features over 135 artists.

One last event in May is the Mile High Amazing Race. This race takes after the popular Brand Cialis television show and has teams race to different check points around the city where they complete tasks in order to win.

June brings some fun with the annual Greek Festival, the Summer Art Market and Film on the Rocks. For the Fourth of July you will want to head to the city of Aurora because they host the largest fireworks display in the area.

Before the fireworks start there is also live entertainment. A few other exciting July events include Wild Nights at Denver Zoo, Colorado Irish Festival, KidSpree, the Global Dance Festival, and the Colorado Dragon Boat Festival.

August has a few notable events including the Denver Grand Prix, where downtown becomes a racetrack, and the Colorado State Fair. The fair takes place at the fairgrounds and has parades, concerts, animals, art exhibits and contests.

It is a lot of fun for the whole family. September is the start of the fall season and the opening of the Corn Maze.

This corn stalk maze can be challenging because the path changes each year. Kids can have fun too at the children’s maze.

Also at the Corn Maze are a couple of haunted attractions for those visitors looking for a spook. You may also be interested in the European Festival which offers plenty of food and entertainment.

Many other festivals take place in September including the Arvada Harvest Festival, the Vintage Harvest Festival, and Festival International. October is a fun haunted month with Boo at the Zoo, a Pumpkin Festival, a Chili Cook-off, the Halloween with Horses Festival, and the Haunted Hunt, which gives participants clues to lead them all over the city as they learn about the haunted history of Denver.

November begins the Christmas Season with events such as Light Up Larimar, the Holiday Gift & Garden Market, the Holiday Food & Gift Festival, the Downtown Denver Grand Illumination, and the Christmas Expo & Indoor Tree Lot. December continues the holiday season with the Christkindl Market, Blossoms of Light, Luminaria Night in Washington Park, and Jingle Bell Run.

The last event of the year is the New Year’s Eve Fireworks. They take place downtown and ring in the New Year.
