Weight Loss Myths Exposed – Discover The Truth

It seems everyone has a secret way to lose weight. You have probably found some actually work and most do not. The crazy diets all carbs, no carbs, high fat and etcetera just do not work…there is no magic pill. You know, take the pill and in three days you become skinny while you sleep. Give me a break!

There is a ton of false or misleading information out there. Sometimes it is made up just to benefit one person and there again it seems to come from under a rock and gets pasted all over as truth. In this article, let us examine some of the weight loss myths that are just not true.

– Myth #1.

It is possible to lose weight and keep it off without any exercise. Sounds good, but it really does not work. Most of the crazy expensive fad, no exercise diets have a bad track record. The average is you lose about 10 pounds in one year and 95% gain that back within one year. Most of the time, they gain back much more than they lost to begin with. Face the fact, if you are to lose weight you must get at least 20-30 minutes of moderate exercise per day. Sorry about that you couch potatoes…

– Myth #2.

If you do not eat much or skip meals, you will lose weight. Well…true, you will lose weight like water weight, muscle mass and bone density but guess what? That is all bad and you will gain it back when you start eating again. Losing weight by not eating is not only ridiculous, but it really messes up your metabolism. By slowing your metabolism, you will gain weight much faster. Then you become a yo-yo dieter. You know, lose 30 pounds, gain 40 back, lose 50 pounds again and guess what…gain 75 back. This type of situation really puts a lot of stress on your body along with the feeling of failure toward Kamagra your weight loss goals.

– Myth #3

If I cut out all sweets and snacks, I will lose weight and keep it off. Here is another good one. If you totally deprive yourself of any type of food, including snacks and desserts, you are more likely to give into cravings and then binge or overeat when given half a chance. It is okay to eat snacks, but try to eat a small portion and eat the healthiest choice available.

Example: if you like ice cream, then have a small bowl of no sugar added vanilla or butter pecan. This will satisfy your desires and it will be less fat and lower in sugar than other options that are available. This is not to be construed to mean eat ice cream three times a day. It is meant to be occasional and in moderation.
