Dave Matthews Band Tickets – Final Date with the Cubs

Though Dave Matthews recently announced his final concert date of the summer, which will subsequently mark the first break the group has seen in a decade and a half, he will continue to pull out all the stops as the group performs at the first annual HullabaLOU Music Festival this weekend. The Louisville special will feature headliners Dave Matthews Band, Bon Jovi and Kenny Chesney during the weekend festivities, with a total of 65 acts at the Churchill Downs horse racing track.

Following the set on Sunday, the group will visit several more cities in the States before finalizing their summer tour plans at Chicago’s Wrigley Field. Longtime fans of the Dave Matthews Band aren’t going to hesitate when purchasing Dave Matthews Band tickets from StubHub, so don’t wait around too long.

The Dave Matthews Band will finish support for Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King with a two-night performance at the famed Chicago Cubs ballpark. The Sept. 17-18 shows will also include Jason Mraz as the opener. The Wrigley Field dates will be the last until 2012, as the final performance was announced just a month into the group’s summer outing. “We feel lucky that our tours are a part Silagra of so many people’s lives, and wanted to give everyone as much notice as possible,” the group said in the May announcement. “We’ve excited to make this summer one of our best tours yet, and look forward to returning to the road in 2012.”

Matthews, a South African vocalist and guitarist, began recording music in 1991. With the help of local musicians like drummer Carter Beauford, saxophonist LeRoi Moore, pianist Stefan Lessard, the short-lived Peter Grisar and violinist Boyd Tinsley, Matthews’ jazz inspired themes opened in the Charlottesville music scene. The group’s official premiere happened at the City of Charlottesville’s Earth Day Festival that April, quickly gaining notoriety within the local underground market. Two years later Remember Two Things, the debut album from Bama Rags, appeared and became a college favorite.

Advertising to their audience, the Dave Matthews Band promoted their debut on the college circuit, charting and becoming certified gold by the RIAA. The next year the group released their RCA debut, Under the Table and Dreaming, followed by 1996’s crossover hit Crash. While they found fame on the charts and platinum certification in their albums, the main and most successful constant of the group was its tour schedule. Before the group went mainstream they maintained a hefty tour route, and it didn’t stop once they found headlining success.

By the time the third album Before these Crowded Streets appeared as a Billboard 200 number one debut, the group was spending nearly every waking minute on the road supporting the albums they quickly produced. Headlining gigs at this point, now DMB was selling out stadiums and arenas for fans around the world. The next decade remained much of the same – recording albums nearly every two years, supporting them on the road for double that time, and seeing unprecedented success along the way. Now is the time to celebrate their act with Dave Matthews tickets from StubHub.
