Visit Salt Lake City’s Best Attractions

Salt Lake City is a fabulous city with so many exciting and unique attractions. From cultural points of interest to the beauties of nature, Salt Lake has it all.

Many people are aware that a vast majority of Salt Lake’s population belongs to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in other words, the Mormons. What people may not realize is that the Mormon Church has many museums and places to visit in the Salt Lake area.

Whether you are a member of this church or not all are invited to view the interesting sites. One of the most popular sites of the LDS church is Temple Square, located in downtown.

Surrounding the majestic temple are beautiful grounds, a reflecting pool and two visitor centers. Although only members of the church are allowed into the temple, anyone is free to walk the grounds and admire the unique architecture of the temple.

Also located at the square are a few different restaurants. The Lion House Pantry, Nauvoo Cafe, The Garden Restaurant, and The Roof Restaurant.

The Garden and The Roof are both located on the tenth floor of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building, which overlooks the city and the square. Also located across from Temple Square at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building is a theater which shows a few different feature films.

The shows are free but tickets do need to be acquired prior to attendance. A few other points of interest owned by the LDS church are the Family History Library Kamagra and the Museum of Church History & Art (which has a lot for kids to do).

Salt Lake also has many other attractions not related to the Mormon Church. A hot spot to visit in downtown SLC is the Gateway Mall.

This open-air mall features many shops, delicious restaurants, a planetarium and a children’s museum. Also at this mall is a huge fountain with dancing water.
