EBay Selling Tips – Easy Ways to Increase Your Auction Profits

Want to increase your eBay auction profits? Just starting out and want to get the most money for your listings?

Here are 4 easy ebay selling tips to boost your bids and sale prices on your auction listings.

#1 Give Your Bidders Lots of Pictures

The problem with buying something online is that people can’t touch it, turn it over and examine it from different angles.

One way to get over this hurdle is to give your bidders as many pictures from as many different angles as possible.

It’s a known fact that auctions with pictures get more bids than auctions without pictures.

Try to include as many pictures – clear pictures – of your item as possible. Pictures should be taken from different angles. If the item comes with packaging or a receipt, show those too.

And if there are any defects in the item, make sure to show those things as well. People want to know about these things up front.

You may not get as many bids – but you also won’t be dealing with an angry buyer either – who then leaves negative feedback for you.

#2 Check Out Your Competition First

Before listing your item, check out the competiting auctions first. There’s no point starting the bids at $80 for your item when someone else is selling the exact same thing for $60.

Once you’ve checked out the competition, then price your item competitively. While you don’t always have to undercut on price, you can find ways to add more value to your listing than your competitors.

For instance, maybe you can give a discount on shipping. Maybe you’ll ship internationally. Maybe your item comes with a receipt to prove authenticity.

Even if you make your item description more finished and complete than your competitor, you’ll notice a jump in bids.

#3 Realize that it’s Not Always About Who Has The Lowest Price

While many buyers do want to get a great deal, they don’t always buy from the person with the lowest price.

For instance, I’ve often paid more for designer items that included an original store receipt. I’d rather have this for proof of authenticity and pay a bit more for it, than take a chance that the designer item is a fake.

I’ve also paid more to purchase from a seller with a great feedback rating. Buying from someone you trust is worth more to me because I don’t have to worry whether or not I’ll receive my item.

#4 Build As Much Positive Buyer Feedback As You Can

One of the best eBay selling tips is this: Do everything you can do build a positive feedback rating. This is going to determine how many future sales and bids you get. So protect your reputation with everything you’ve got.

Of course there will always be buyers who are impossible to please. However most people just want a fair transaction and good customer service.

So underpromise and overdeliver to your buyers. Treat them with respect and care.

Act professionally, package your items properly and send a thank-you email for their business. This will go a long way towards building your reputation.

And as you build up more and more positive feedback, you’ll find more buyers checking out your auctions.

So those are several ebay selling tips to get more bids and higher prices for your listings. Try them out and you’ll probably notice that your bids and auction profits are increasing over time.
