Hotel or Spa! Why Not Both?

You want to escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life for some well deserved pampering – but you can’t decide whether to visit a luxury hotel or a spa? Chances are you’ve already made a few enquiries – maybe even gone online – in search of that perfect destination. But if you’ve never visited a spa hotel before you might not realise the best of both worlds is out there waiting for you, with beautiful all in one hotel and spa facilities.

Many people are still unaware of the benefits of staying in a spa hotel or don’t understand the treatments and therapies available to them But it’s exactly what it says -a hotel – and a spa. So if you fancy a little pampering with the girls, your other half, or even on your own, it can be the perfect one stop destination for a great break. The spa is usually a self contained oasis within the hotel where you can find peace and tranquillity. As you walk through the doors you’ll leave the outside world behind and begin a lovely journey of relaxation and contentment. Enjoy a snooze by the pool, indulge in a treatment or two, or simply chat with friends over a drink. Therapists are generally delighted to discuss treatments and options with you – if you’ve never been before you could always ask for a simple massage to set you off and running.

Despite offering lots more than a straightforward hotel, spa hotels are often great value. It is worth shopping around to find one that appeals to you both in terms of size – and cost. If you’re new to it all, a small spa might suit you best, with more basic treatments for you to try.

Spa hotels range from acceptably comfortable to downright luxurious, but all have a common aim – your increased happiness, health and wellbeing. They’re dotted along the length and breadth of England. You’ll find them reclining in cities or curled up in the countryside. With so many treatments, therapies and opportunities for rest and relaxation, they’re the perfect hideaway for recharging flagging batteries. Imagine whiling the afternoon away in a warm pool whilst outside the weather’s grey and damp. Or how about a muscle soothing massage to relax and de-stress, with the added bonus of knowing you’ll be tucking into a fresh seasonal meal in the restaurant later. With the emphasis on your enjoyment and relaxation it’s easy to see how a spa hotel could offer everything you need for a wonderful holiday.

Many hotels don’t have their own spa – and lots of them are still very lovely. But, given the choice, wouldn’t want the option of walking through those doors into the sublime peace and tranquillity of a hotel spa? With soft robes and dimmed lighting, calming thoughts and a warm inviting pool, it’s easy to see why people end their stay with more energy and optimism than when they arrived. Spa hotels are feel-good places. They help reduce the stresses and strains of our busy lives. They can be the perfect tonic when everything starts to get on top of us.
