How to Install an Interactive Whiteboard

Society has gone mobile all over the world. Because of this fact, the creation of an interactive whiteboard has surfaced. This is fast becoming a popular model of communication set in a classroom setting.

So many more people can be accommodated with an environment that includes an interactive whiteboard. It replaces the traditional class flip chart with instant communication with people with a PC connection.

An interactive whiteboard allows live demonstrations or lectures with the capability of feedback from the audience.

There are a few configurations that need to be considered before incorporating a whiteboard slated for the presentation that need to be resolved. Once this has been firmed up the installation process of an interactive whiteboard is easy to follow.

The types of whiteboards available vary and the most basic form is the thermal whiteboard. This type of whiteboard allows for black and white color only.

Most of the time this type will suffice but there are exceptions when presenting something to shareholders or upper management.

Color whiteboards capture colored images on their surface and is well intentioned to capture the peoples interests with this variety of colors. Colored whiteboards make the subject interesting and allows seeing graphical differences.

Portable interactive whiteboards are starting to become popular as well. This is on the spot type of whiteboard where one can be anywhere in the world beaming a class devoid of a formal classroom.

Here are the steps to install an interactive whiteboard.

Step 1. Using the PC to use as the medium for the whiteboard, you need to install the software drivers associated with the particular whiteboard device selected.

Step 2. Text and images are captured via online files that will replace the traditional class whiteboard. Internet access is one of the basic requirements of setting up an interactive whiteboard.

Step 3. Connection of the PC to the internet can be by USB cable or wireless in order to get started.

Step 4. Once logged on to the internet, access the appropriate file that contains the lesson plan or presentation. Once access to the file is given, information can be updated by a finger, digital pen or a stylus.

Step 5. In order to get feedback from the audience, the instructor can relinquish control of writing to a student. Once control is given to a remote user then that user can actually write their response on the whiteboard. This is a great feedback that can be used for mathematical problems or having the student put down their questions online.

In the beginning of interactive whiteboards a lot of teachers were wary of the impact and feasibility that this medium may have. Without seeing the audience it was hard to conceive that their message was getting across properly. But with the interactive capability being active that fear was gone.

Interactive whiteboards allows more people to attend a presentation anywhere in the world and viewpoints from a wide range of people are allowed.

The adaptability of mobile phones to the interactive whiteboard technology will allow communication to be made available to a wider group of people than ever thought of before.
