It should fit snugly but not too tight. Neither should they be too loose. They should not cause any chafing or rubbing against the skin. Comfortable underwear should also allow air to flow.

A mans underwear should have elastic bands covered in cotton fabric with the elastic band about half an inch wide. Bikini brief might look and feel sexy but can be quite uncomfortable for men to wear, especially for a whole day at work.

Briefs tend to shrink in the dryer. To be on the safe side, go to a store and buy one size larger based on your body measurements. Get one package first of a particular brand and then have then go through the washer and dryer several times. If they come out tight after a few washes then go back for more in a size bigger.
