Most people unless rich live paycheck to paycheck. If that is the case, there are strategies for setting aside cash for these purposes. Out of each paycheck take a few dollars even if only twenty at a time and place in an account that cannot be touched unless necessary. Continue the process as long as possible to build up a steady amount. Forget about it and before you know it, there is some nice change stored away.

Another resource for adding funds to an account is tax refunds. Many people who file taxes receive money back each year if they are fortunate enough not to pay in. Take all or half received back and put over into the savings. It will build up quicker and faster than imagined and leave you with comfort knowing you have funds available.

Sell off items no longer in use and pocket the money. Sell things that have not been used in months or years that are not sentimental in nature. If it has not been used nine times out of ten you never will.

In addition, it helps eliminate clutter from around your home giving more living space. On the outside sell off junk cars, appliances and things of this nature for scrap. Old lawn mowers, broken equipment, aluminum, copper and such all bring in cash. You will be surprised at what recycle or junk yards purchase for cash.
