You see what I\’m doing? I\’m teaching you about health and improving your scrabble game at the same time!

Millions of people every day enjoy drinking soda. They are often oblivious to what these drinks are doing to their bodies. Unfortunately, people do not understand exactly what\’s in their favorite beverages. Many of the ingredients which are included will affect your health, and increase the chance of serious problems in the future.

Sodas are cheap and taste really good which is often why they are chosen over other drink options. However, to remain healthy and ensure that you provide your family with a balanced and nutritional diet, you need to look for alternatives. When you allow your family to drink soda on a regular basis, you are placing your family at risk.

There are many health problems and issues that are associated with soda. There is remarkably little nutritional value contained in sodas. Your body will gain no benefit from consuming the drink.

Soda is incredibly high in both calories and sugar, which can easily lead to obesity and diabetes. The high sugar content of soda can lead to several health problems. You may be putting on weight without even realizing that the soda is the cause of the problem.

Drinking soda has also shown to increase the chances of tooth decay in both adults and children. Unfortunately, there are now many children who have problems with their teeth and gums from consuming soda. There are several elements within the soda, which can affect your teeth in different ways. The acid may erode the enamel on your teeth, and over time this can create massive problems.

Soda can also cause your bones to become weaker and many people may risk suffering from broken bones later in life. This can be caused by the ingredients in soda leaching calcium from bones, causing them to become brittle and break. The high levels of caffeine within the soda are also worrying, as they can cause you to become addicted to the soda.

The false sense of alertness can become dangerous and affect your overall mental state. You may find that you experience severe headaches and dizziness, and may also feel bloated. Over time, your body will be negatively affected by the stress of trying to filter all of the toxins contained in soda out of your system.

In extreme cases drinking soda has been known to cause asthma attacks and this can be extremely concerning. Eczema suffers will also notice that their skin condition is far worse after drinking the soda and that the rashes are severe.

With the many problems and health issues that soda can cause, it is surprising that people still drink this beverage in large amounts. Drinking soda will not only rot your teeth, cause you to put on weight, create skin conditions, but can also cause you to have heart and kidney problems.

There is nothing healthy about drinking soda, and you should find an alternative beverage to fulfill your needs. Preferably water. Remember that? The clear stuff that works wonders.

But I know your type. Yeah you. I\’m talking to you. I know what you\’re thinking \”What\’s the big deal? Who cares if I drink a little soda? It\’s not that bad.\”

Well then let me drop some statistics on ya

Carbonated soda pop provides more added sugar in a typical 2-year-old toddler\’s diet than cookies, candies and ice cream combined.

Fifty-six percent of 8-year-olds down soft drinks daily, and a third of teenage boys drink at least three cans of soda per day.

One can of soda has about 10 teaspoons of sugar, 150 calories, 30 to 55 mg of caffeine, and is loaded with artificial food colors and sulphites.

For each additional daily serving of sugar-sweetened soft drink consumed during a nearly two-year study, the risk of obesity increased 1.6 times.

Drinking a single can a day of sugary drinks translates to more than a pound of weight gain every month.

Soda damages your liver. Consumption of too many soft drinks puts you under increased risk for liver cirrhosis similar to the increased risk faced by chronic alcoholics.

What do you have to say now Mr. Who Cares and Ms. So what? If after all that you don\’t reduce and eventually eradicate soda from your diet then here are some more scrabble words for you:

Obtuse, philistine, lackadaisical, amaurotic and just plain cuckoo!!!
