Baur Donates Furniture For a Student Reading Room to the Weismain Primary School

A few weeks ago the primary school of the city Weismain was rededicated after general renovations – and Dr. Joerg Hoepfner and Alexander Schnapp representing Baur Versand donated a comprehensive furniture package for a student reading room to the school. The primary school of Weismain is about seven kilometres away from Burgkunstadt, the head quarter of Baur. Six white cabinets with aluminium tambour doors, a white bookshelf, a white highboard and a white desk with a large executive chair can now be found in the bright, 40 square metre room. In the future the students can take a seat on colourful seating cubes or make themselves comfortable in two \”music rockers\”. The rockers are highly modern multimedia chairs made out of imitation leather that is easy to clean. The chairs also have integrated speakers that can easily be connected to MP3 players, stereo systems or television sets. The students will be able to hang up their jackets on new coat racks made of colourful glass.

The student library will also be housed in this new student reading room. \”The students will also come here to read,\” says Ute Chapple, the support teacher responsible for the student library at the Weismain primary school. Werner Rehe, the school director, adds also: \”Encouraging students to read and increasing their literacy has become our school\’s programme. I thank Baur Versand for this generous furniture donation. It allows our school to redesign our student library and thus to create optimal conditions for our reading programme.\”

Alexander Schnapp, junior product manager in the Baur department responsible for the sale of office furniture, dining rooms and kitchens, explains: \”All of this furniture is sample furniture that was photographed for our catalogue – can you imagine a better future for it than in a primary school\’s student library?\” His colleague, Dr. JÖrg Hoepfner, the press spokesman of Baur, adds, \”I am glad that we were able to furnish Weismain primary school\’s new student reading room because last year our company launched a new reading campaign. For the last few months employees from companies in the Baur Group have regularly gone to schools, kindergartens and other organisations, and read to the students. This campaign will certainly allow us to be guests soon in the new student reading room at Weismain primary school. That would be really great.\”
