Generating traffic to your website is only half the battle. Actually, it\’s less than that. Call it 15%. But no matter the numbers, high traffic volume is the single greatest thing that can happen to an internet marketer. It opens the door to opportunity, and that\’s all we can ask for. In fact, it\’s the only thing we need.

Look at it realistically. We can\’t fathom the size or density of the online marketplace. Thousands of stores sell this, thousands of stores sell that. So who\’s got it better? Answer: Who knows? Any and almost every online shopper will not pull out their wallet at the first website for this reason. But this is what gives birth to Webmasters. What many fail to realize and little seem to recognize is that the majority of internet money is not made on traffic – the REAL money is made on the back-end – after the visitor has left the site.

Picture the classic scenario. Potential customer visits your website. One of three things can happen:

1. They don\’t find any of the information or products interesting or useful.

2. They find the information or products somewhat interesting or useful, click around and then leave. Oftentimes that customer will never return mainly because their initial interest wasn\’t strong to begin with.

3. They find the information or products very interesting and useful and continue to further explore your website. At this moment, most shoppers are inclined to request additional information rather than immediately make a purchase. Subsequently, a customer will leave an e-mail address as a means of future contact.

That email address is the door much less the key in acquiring a potential customer\’s business. By providing you a means of contact, they openly expressed an interest in what you have to offer; and you must always answer that call.

Always bear in mind the importance of an email address. And also understand that in the eyes of most consumers an email account may mean nothing more than a pet name. With that said, any sort of \”quality incentive\” you offer will often hold more value. The goal is to make that \”uneven exchange\” apparent to the consumer, where he or she believes the better part of a bargain belongs to them.

If you happened to read any of my past articles, you may have noticed that I constantly urge you to make what\’s your \”uniquely\” yours, and this is no different. Get creative and get rich. You can offer your own custom e-book, related information articles, even reports and books you have accessed full rights to resell. No matter the poison, be sure your incentive is considered a higher value when compared to their email account. A good rule of thumb: If they\’d pay for it, they just did.

2. Automatic is Smoother than Manual

Allow visitors to automatically sign up to your email list and receive your \”quality incentive.\” You will need an auto-responder in place to accomplish this. If you\’re not familiar with them, here are a few key attributes:

* Captures the visitors\’ name and email account to build a profitable database of subscribers.

* Easy follow up to subscribers. Messages can be customized to automatically send at specific intervals.

* Allows \”broadcasting\” of special offers and/or important announcements with one click.

3. Educate and Cultivate

Always remember that the best way to sell anyone on anything is to educate them on it. When you\’re following up with your subscribers proceed by giving them additional incentives related to your topic. This means FREE. Use informative articles, special reports, expert interviews, product reviews, etc. The same applies if you\’re an affiliate. Resources and tools are constantly created to help affiliates succeed. Give it all away.

Once you\’ve educated your consumer, you\’ve indirectly cultivated a relationship with them. From that moment, your name in their inbox will automatically create an expectation. The expectation that \”no matter what the content of this email may be, I know it\’s for my betterment.\” By offering high value material at no cost, you\’ve proven that if EVER you were going to sell something, then it must be worth the money. Always remember to BRAND yourself, and by doing this you\’ve branded yourself an \”influence\” and not a \”salesman\”.

4. Build on Your Brand

Make recommendations to products belonging to you or an affiliate you market for, but do so in a manner where you constantly offer more value than what\’s being paid. Again, get creative to get rich. Much of my belief in successful internet marketing stems from a marketer\’s ability to create. With creation comes extra value.

Example: You\’re an affiliate for \”Organic Energy\”, a series of e-books designed to show people how to live without gas and fuel. Along with this offer, you can include your own personal work covering \”electric cars\” or special reports discussing \”the fuel crisis in the Middle East.\” Whatever it is be sure it is quality work.

Simply put, always offer a higher value of information or product versus what\’s actually being paid. Familiarize your customer with paying little to nothing for what you consistently offer. Let them get used to it. Let them get used to paying.
