Overview of the Martin Yale 1611 AutoFolder Paper Folding Machine

Trying to fold this same material by hand is tedious, takes a long time and results in sloppy results. Paper folding machines are a must have product for any business or organization that folds mail, brochures, literature and other material. One machine that continues to be a hugely popular model is the Martin Yale 1611 AutoFolder paper folding machine. While this machine has caught on in popularity, is it a model you should consider buying?

Martin Yale has a long pedigree in paper folding machines. Few people in the paper folding industry have never heard of their products. The 1217A and the CV7 are just a couple of their longtime classics. The Model 1611 has build on lessons learned, having just replaced the 1601, and has turned out to be a pretty nice machine.

Clasped in charcoal black, this machine has a very modern look to it. The black shell, combined with the gray accents of the feed tray, folding plates and exit tray really bring an ambiance of professionalism to the office. This piece of machinery looks nice next to any copy machine, printer or other piece of office equipment.

Before I go on about the performance, I would like to mention that this paper folding machine fits nicely on just about any desk. Many paper folding machines have bulky feed trays or folding plates that get in the way. The Martin Yale 1611 measures in at a comfortably 32.5 inches long. Most desks and tables will be able to easily support the 47 pounds (shipping weight). I have seen this machine used on cubical desks up to heavy-duty counters.

While the 1611 does emit some noise (as does any folding machine), the case definitely muffles the sound down to tolerable levels.

This is a completely manual setup machine. That means that both of the folding plates will need to be manually adjusted. While this may sound complicated, it is a rather simple process that takes just minutes to complete. As is the case with most Martin Yale machines, the folds are clearly marked on the folding machine. This makes setup easy.

The Martin Yale 1611 AutoFolder can be used to fold papre up to 8 1/2\” x 14\” and can create letter folds, accordion folds, church folds, half folds and more. Because the folding plates are entirely manual, this machine is extremely easy to use for custom folds. Handled paper weights range from 16# bond up to 70# index.

While this isn\’t a high volume machine, it is more than adequate to handle daily jobs ranging from light to medium volume folding. The feed tray holds 150 sheets, and once done, will automatically turn off the motor. Once completed, simply fill the feed trays with more paper and begin again.

Unlike many folding machines in this price range, the Martin Yale 1611 has a powered exit tray. This helps slow down paper as it exits the machine as well as keep paper neatly stacked.

The combination of high-end features, stylish looks and a great price make the Martin Yale and ideal choice for most businesses. You will find the Martin Yale 1611 at ABCOffice.com.
