Cruise Lines With a View

Most all cruises are scenic in nature, but some cruise lines offer much more lovely views than others. The Maid of the Mist in Niagara Falls is very charming, just for the fact that you are in the Niagara River and at the base of Niagara Falls. Getting wet from the force of the falling water and being in such close proximity to the falls themselves is amazing. Many smaller river cruises are the best way to take in scenery and be pampered at the same time. Sites like cruisedealership make searching and comparing both small & large ships easy to choose from.

Viking River Cruises are a great example of smaller cruise ships with the amenities of the large ships. Jacuzzis, private balconies, and exquisite food are just the beginning of the onboard offerings. Panoramic cabin views from ceiling to floor windows allow for private relaxation while viewing the beauty. These river cruises are offered in many countries, Russia, China, Cambodia, and Portugal just to name a few, and all showcasing the cuisine of the regions. Most have English speaking guides and offer on shore excursions such as bicycle tours. The Rhine River tours concentrate on the majestic castles of the region, however all the river tours are magnificent. The simple fact of smaller ship size allows for more personal attention to passengers onboard and better maneuverability to reach more scenic venues.

Larger cruise ships have a plethora of scenic offerings also. Glacier Bay National Park in Alaska is a prime example of large ships providing wonderful views and options for enjoying the scenery. You can take smaller boat trips from the larger cruise line to explore the glaciers up close, kayaking is an offered out trip for enjoying the National Park, and there are helicopter tours available from Juneau. Since most of Glacier Bay National Park is mountains, rainforest, and protected area there are not many trails, so viewing this wonderful scenery is best done by water.

Other large ship cruises that have unprecedented scenery are those that tour the islands of the Caribbean, however the Eastern Caribbean offers more beautiful beaches and less population for more relaxing, and possibly romantic, venues. The scenery here is mainly undeveloped islands, so this bodes well for quiet and tranquil days of exploring crystal clear blue waters and white sand beaches with unobstructed views of the Caribbean Sea.

Australian cruises to view the Great Barrier Reef are also extremely popular and offer gorgeous sights. The reef is ever changing, and since it is a living structure no two visits will ever be the same. Snorkeling here is very popular, as it is in the Western Caribbean, so if you wish to actively see the sights, embark on a cruise with snorkeling options.

With smaller ships you can get up close and personal with the destination of your choice, river cruising offers a diverse number of scenic experiences. Their itineraries range from the Mighty Mississippi to the Danube, and from the Amazon to the Mekong.
