Everything a Bride Needs, From Head to Toe

Any bride wants to look her very best on her wedding day and each and every one will pay extra attention to every aspect of their look, clothing and accessories for the big day. This is a short guide for any bride who wants to make sure they don\’t forget a single detail in planing for her wedding day, starting at the top and working down.

Hair and Headwear

Brides can either employ a hairdresser or ask a member of their family or wedding party to make sure their hair is as good as it can look on the day. Typically if a hairdresser is employed they will arrive on the morning of the wedding to do hairstyle just in time for the ceremony, but it is worth considering what headwear a bride is going to wear as this will affect the hair style.

There is a wide range of head pieces and tiaras a bride could choose, from simple bridal combs, to stunning and sparkling tiaras and the more traditional but equally beautiful veils. Each one would suit a certain types of hair style, so it\’s worth discussing with the chosen hairdresser which is going to be worn.

Wedding Jewellery

Jewellery is a very important part of the overall ensemble and includes everything from earrings, necklaces and bracelets to the ring itself. When choosing wedding jewellery it obviously has to go with the dress and headwear, if it is being worn, as well as match the overall colour scheme of the outfit.

There are various kinds of wedding jewellery to choose from, including vintage wedding jewellery from designers like Filippa Scott, Halo & Co and Ivory & Co.

Wedding Accessories

In addition to jewellery, a bride could choose some extra items to really complete the ensemble. One example of wedding accessories is a cape, shrug or stole, especially if the wedding day is during the winter months. Not only do they add an extra bit of style, but they\’ll help keep the blushing bride warm during potentially lengthy photo shoots!

Other things to consider are clutch bags, watches or perhaps even an umbrella!

Wedding Underwear

No-one but your husband to be will see this, but that doesn\’t mean some thought shouldn\’t go into it. It has to be comfortable to wear for the full day, be suitable for the dress you choose and wow your partner on the wedding night. Corsets are a common choice, usually in white with matching knickers, stockings and suspenders, though more adventurous choices are possible!

Garters

A lot of brides opt to wear a garter under their dress. Often it is used to represent the something old, something new, something borrowed or something blue and it\’s a nice little surprise for the groom too!

The Wedding Dress

Not that a bride is going to forget this all important item, but nevertheless, this is a comprehensive list and it would be remiss to leave it out! Each bride is going to have her own individual idea of what they want for their big day, so we\’re not going to go into any details on this one!

Wedding Shoes

Ah, the wedding shoes. Almost as important as the dress, wedding shoes need to combine comfort with style, match the dress, cause a stir and just plain look great. Though they are often traditional in style – from the likes of Rachel Simpson, Filippa Scott or Harriet Wilde – a lot of brides are choosing something a little more off the wall, from boots to high tops and everything in between!

That completes our breakdown for brides, we wish you all the happiness in the world on your big day and every success for the future. We\’re sure you will look amazing!
