Celestron Omni XLT 150 R Telescope – Great For Astrophotography

In today\’s markets few manufacturers go for innovation rather than following market trends. Celestron are recognised as true pioneers in astronomical products and one of them. Since launching its first telescope in 1960 Celestron haven’t looked back and are now one of the world’s top telescope makers.

Celestron is turning ordinary backyards into suburban observatories all over the world with their AstroMaster and Omni XLT series of non-computerized telescopes. These telescopes are designed to satisfy the demands of both serious astronomers and beginning astronomers. They are virtually maintenance free, easy to set up and make use of Celestron’s superior optics to provide stunning views of a broad range of celestial objects, from the rings around Saturn, Jupiter\’s moons, to deep-space objects like the Whirlpool Galaxy.

Celestron had amateur astronomers in mind when they created the Celestron Omni XLT 150 R telescope. It has a 6 inch refractor optical pipe body, with a purely manual mounting. Although designed for shorter distances it is a simple process to adapt the telescope for long range use with the addition of a motor drive and polar axis finder.

The Celestron Omni XLT Series features refractor, reflector and Schmidt-Cassegrain optical designs coupled with the Omni CG-4 heavy-duty German Equatorial mount and sturdy tripod featuring 1.75\” stainless steel legs and centre tray for superior rigidity and vibration dampening.

The refractor enables users to see broader and clearer images which often take people by surprise when they first use the telescope. Operating the telescope is simple as the CG-4 German type mounting provides the right support required to move the XLT 150 R. A DC-operated motor for automatic movement of the scope is available separately.

The telescope has an adjustable tripod 1.75\” stand in an off-white colour for mounting the telescope upright. In all the telescope weighs only 45.5 lbs and is 34 inches in length making it extremely portable.

The Celestron Omni XLT 150 R telescope comes in a metallic blue colour scheme with off-white touch patches making it extremely elegant. However what really takes people by surprise is the optical quality of this scope,expecting much less from a product that is targeted at the amateur astronomer.

There are many benefits in owning an Celestron Omni XLT 150 R telescope;

– 6 inch refractor for better focusing
