Father\’s Day is the Best Time For Trips on Grand Canyon Helicopters

Your dad\’s holiday is on Sunday, June 16, and it will be here soon. If you haven\’t yet set your plans, I have an idea: consider a tour on one of the Grand Canyon helicopters that fly out of Vegas or Grand Canyon National Park Airport (GCA) at Tusayan, AZ. These flights have always been a hit with Dads, and you\’ll need to book one quickly before they sell out. All flights are running on their regular schedules, including early morning and sunset tours.

South Rim Helicopter Tours

There are two chopper tours of the South Rim, one is a 30 minute flight and the second is a longer one that takes 50 minutes. If you have enough time, you should choose the longer flight. Since you are celebrating with dad, you should think about upgrading to a deluxe tour. The deluxe tours use top of the line EcoStar 130 helicopters that offer the ultimate in comfort. Here\’s why.

– They are designed for sightseeing with 180 degree wraparound windshields

– The large cabins provide ample personal space

– Stadium-style seating with all seats facing forward

– The EcoStar tours fly you over a huge territory that encompasses of the National Park

You can also add on an exciting ground tour to your trip. An exciting tour takes you on a Jeep Safari to see some amazing sights including sunset at the edge of the canyon. You can only take this tour in late afternoon.

Las Vegas Chopper Tours Of The Grand Canyon

Heliports are located on the Vegas Strip and in Boulder City and Henderson, NV. Strip departures are more expensive than the suburban options. The Vegas helicopter tours are available as air-only trips and landing tours.

If you go on an air-only tour, choose the deluxe version. Why? Well, it uses the EcoStar 130 \’copter I mentioned earlier. Plus, depending upon your tour operator, you might get extra air time.

All these flights take you over beautiful Lake Mead and the massive Hoover Dam on the way to Grand Canyon West. Your air-only tour also flies over the glass Grand Canyon Skywalk and the Colorado River before it circles back to Vegas.

The landing tours are my personal favorites. One of them lands you on the floor of the canyon where you can enjoy a champagne picnic or brunch depending upon what time of day you land. You can also add on a fun raft trip along the Colorado River.

You can also opt for a landing tour that drops you off on top of them rim so you can explore for about 2 hours. You will want to visit Guano Point and Eagle Point, but be sure to visit the glass Skywalk. You won\’t want to miss this unique experience, which lets you stand 4,000 feet above the canyon floor while you\’re 70 feet past the rim\’s edge!

Booking Seats For Your Trip

Don\’t bother looking for tours on third-party travel sites like Expedia, Viator or Priceline. Because of the added fees, you have to pay more than you need to. Instead, go to the tour operator\’s official website to get your tickets. As long as you complete your purchase on the site, you can save up to 30% off retail!

To Recap

Dad\’s Day is almost here, and it\’s the perfect occasion for a Grand Canyon helicopter tour. He will have a thrilling experience to remember always.

If you can, opt for the deluxe tours. Get your tickets as soon as you can because they are so popular, they fill up quickly. Book online, directly with the tour company, so you can take advantage of the super Internet rate. Just remember to complete the transaction on the site!
