Find Peace of Mind

How wonderful would it be to be able to switch off from everyday problems and to find peace of mind? If it’s been so long since you felt anxiety free, then peace of mind translates to a ‘state of being’ where you are free from fear, worry or unhappiness. You simply exist.

If you are used to living a stressful existence, this might seem a distant dream. Too many people resort to sleeping pills to help them relax, desperate to get a good night’s sleep, their blood pressure through the roof, they are tired and irritable and headaches also become the norm. Some people depend on anti-depressants just to get by so to find peace of mind might seem a real impossibility. Let’s be honest, life can be difficult, in fact, it can be downright cruel at times.

Author Frenee Dellossa quotes in her book Free Your Mind Right Now, ‘that our minds are filled with constant chatter. Thoughts fill our minds no matter what and it can cloud our thinking. ‘

She is right. It can seem to be an impossible task to stop the constant and endless stream of chatter that can bombard the waking mind. She also states that, ‘To attain peace of mind one must want it. The power is in all of us. Only you can make the decision to have the tranquility that you desperately need.’

But it can be worse than this; thoughts can continue to revolve around your head even whilst you sleep, disrupting your much needed sleep cycle and making you feel less able to cope come the morning. If this sounds familiar then you need to stop what you are doing and to start considering your health. Peace of mind is possible to achieve but there are certain steps that you need to put in place first and there are some hard questions to ask yourself.

The first thing is whether you want to change and to improve your life and your health. Learning to let go of stress is not easy, but it is possible. Learning to manage the bombardment of thoughts and anxieties is also difficult but again, it is achievable. You just have to decide how you want to live and to embrace a more peaceful way of life if so.

Living a stressful existence is a habit that’s all. When you start to strip away the layers of stress you can start to breathe a sigh of relief and to remember what it is like to embrace a more simplistic way of life. It will feel strange at first but, once you become used to the reduction of noise in your mind and feel an enhanced sense of clarity, it will all make sense.

As Frenee states in her book, ‘Once your mind is blank, picture in your mind what it is that you want to accomplish. Just gently focus on the vision that you want to manifest to reality. Feel as if it is already accomplished. Do this every night. If done correctly that vision will come to fruition before you know it.’

So, the reality of finding peace of mind can literally just be a visualization away.
